I bought this for my step dad as he had recently suffered a groin hernia at work (factory job) and was in excrutiating pain. He was unable to work and could barely walk without a huge amount of pain - he wasnt really able to do anything. My mum had read amazing reviews of these and we thought we'd give it a try. He is genuinely blown away by how much difference it makes, he says he can hardly feel the pain with this belt on and is able to work on light duties & walk etc without significant pain. He wears it everywhere apart from in bed. If you are struggling with a hernia i couldn't recommend this more - without this he'd have been stuck in a chair in agony for months waiting for his op, with it on he can pretty much carry on as normal

Thank you to other reviewers as they helped me choose this item and the sizing.On the sizing issue I ordered the small, I wear size 30" trousers. Be aware though that this sits quite a bit lower on the hips. It holds together with velcro and I mine isn't fully fastened so not sure if the next size would have fitted but I thought it was better to be tight than loose.The pad is quite firm however I suppose it needs to be to do its job. Feels a little strange when wearing this at first but as another reviewer said, after a while you forget it's there.Overall for me so far it has simply enabled me to function to a certain level until I can get an operation. I still avoid lifting and over stretching etc though.

Very limited range of adjustment to waist band.The pad is sewn to the belt so cannot be moved sideways and is in a position where the hard edge cuts into the thigh.The loop for the underneath strap is in a fixed (sewn) position so the bottom of the pad cannot be be drawn across to prevent the hernia entering the scrotum .The pad does nothing to contain the bulge of the hernia.

My partner is waiting for a hernia op and is extremely uncomfortable most of the time - to the extent he is unable to walk far or drive. This support arrived today and it`s absolutely brilliant and holding the hernia in place. He asked me to make sure I left a review as he is thrilled with it. Would highly recommend.

Delighted with everything about this product.Excellent value and a very well made item.I was amazed at the difference wearing this belt would give me, absolutely 'no discomfort' even when sitting.I am very pleased that I chose this item because it has given me back my freedom of NOT having to hold in the offending area and now I can carry on a days normal activity.Thank you so much.

Excellent product. As my op. was cancelled, I can now go on holiday without worrying. I forget i have it on.
