this stuff does really work. the only thing the description doesn't tell you is how wet to get it and whether you have to tread it down. I have sewn whole new patches of lawn with this product mixed with a fast growing seed to pack it out a bit. This works well under my palm trees that are shaded areas.My advice is to use less than you think when spreading, water and then add a bit more if needed to those areas. Keep well watered and if you get full sun after a few days you will get grass growing through. It can sometimes take just over a week to come through and do not be frightened to cut the new grass patches together with your existing lawn. it survives well.

was a bit sceptical having read mixed views. id also used another lawn seed 6 months ago with zero grass germinating. i followed the instructions and covered probably a meters square of patches , so not great value for money. watered it and because of the dry weather had to water every other day for a few days (as the intrunctions say when it goes light brown , water, dark brown, dont water) then left it , after 2 weeks there was no sign of any growth so i was begining to think i wasnt going to get results but 2 days later and each patch has good even clumps of grass germinating nicely.i do wonder if the weather at the time helps ? it was the unusually hot october when i layed it down and i watered it well.could put more in thepacket though large bottle was only half full but they do sell a larger sack which is far more cost effective.so four stars rather than five.

Some shoots appeared but those that did were tiny. Followed instructions exactly. But I wasn’t expecting a ‘Miracle’.

I tried the patch magic on a particularly stubborn spot at the bottom of the garden which was dry and shady, and was amazed when grass sprouted. I’m now a convert and get the 7kg sized bag and use it as a general purpose seed for the lawn. Having said that the grass seed is probably not drought tolerant as it doesn’t seem to last long in long periods of dry conditions.The coir has a tacky substance which is meant to prevent the seeds from being watered away but I find that the substance is strangely also a very good squirrel deterrent! I’m plagued by inquisitive squirrels digging up my lawn but when I use the patch magic to fill in their holes they don’t seem to dig up the same spot anymore.

Very good results. I recommend using it in conjunction with an inexpensive grass seed. I used Sainsbury's, on 50% offer at just £6 per bag

I read all the reviews before purchasing (which were very mixed) but I have to say I was disappointed in the product. I ended up having to turf the small areas on my lawn as the grass which did grow was very sparse and never really 'beefed up' to match the rest of the lawn. Buy some turf and dont waste your money

After having underground pipes replaced beneath my front lawn, my neat little lawn resembled a filled in trench from WW1. I was sceptical as to whether it would do the job required, but I followed the instructions and Lo and Behold within a couple of weeks the bare patches had new grass blades growing in them.
