I'm taking this supplement because I'm focusing on my liver right now and I read that NAC stimulates or supports glutathione production. I can't really say with certainty that I can feel any difference even though I have been taking this daily for at least a few months now- but that's partially due to the fact that I have been making multiple changes to my diet and lifestyle and have been trying various supplements. I see and feel definite improvements, I'm just not sure what improvements if any I can attribute to the NAC. I think the NAC alleviates my allergies similarly to Curcumin- I can take Curcumin far less frequently without the return of allergy symptoms while taking NAC regularly. Also, my husband and I both seem to manage or reduce our weight with more success when we take NAC after dinner along with a Choline/Inositol supplement.I give this product 5 stars because if you are looking for an NAC supplement, Seeking Health offers an excellent choice. This is a pure, high quality AND vegetarian supplement with no soy! I trust Dr. Ben (creator of Seeking Health) and really like his website, healthegoods.Post Covid update: I no longer take this daily but I do keep multiple bottles on hand and several family members have used this for Covid and other bad colds. It seems to thin mucous and help eliminate congestion. This has been very helpful to me and 2 other family member with asthma. I had been using my inhaler for a couple months after an Illness and purchased this when it was back in stock; I was able to stop using my inhaler within a week. It also helped my daughter with her head congestion. She doesn’t typically experience chest congestion. My son with asthma used this after his acute Covid symptoms subsided and his nighttime cough would not and he didn’t think this helped.

It was a bit large so I just cut it in half.

The bottle states to take with a meal, but I have other brands that have stated the opposite, to take on an empty stomach. I realize everyone is different in how they tolerate supplements, so I did some research, that basically said either with or without food is fine. Disclaimer: this is not medical advice. A year ago, I felt like I was falling apart - I developed RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome) symptoms and the quality of my sleep deteriorated dramatically. I had a sleep study done only to be told I did not have sleep apnea and was furiously grinding my teeth at night. The sleep study showed that my deep restorative sleep phase was practically non existent. I did some research about RLS and Bruxism(teeth grinding) - both are classified as movement disorders. I did not want to use the drugs like Requip, because in the long run it produces a rebound effect and symptoms ultimately worsen. According to some articles I read, the Glutamate system is not "behaving right" in movement and psychiatric disorders. See the blog "Evolutionary Psychiatry". I started searching substances that reduce Glutamate, and one of these is NAC. I was amazed how well it worked - The quality of my sleep improved the very first night and my RLS symptoms were about 80% reduced. I had been using it for 9 month now and planning to continue. I also give it to my dog for her arthritis. I had been taking 1 capsule twice a day, and this is the dose I am comfortable with. I tried to take 2 capsules at bedtime, but had unpleasant side effects, such as nausea, hot flushes, and a tightness sensation in my chest.This review is NOT medical advice. I don’t like to write bad reviews and I’ve used this brand for a while through my doctors but decided to start ordering here to I didn’t have to travel to get it. Well I’ve had 2 issues with them so far in the last 2 month and they don’t care to resolve any issues not a company or brand I wanna deal with if that’s how they are. First time they sent me liquid vitamin c that was about to expire I contacted them wanting to send back and get one not about to expire and was basically told to bad it’s a one month supplement and should be gone before it expires. Well first off wasn’t starting it right away had to finish other meds first and second I shouldn’t have to take every single day and get gone in a month if I don’t want too. Then now this time I order nac and then immediately cancelled because I found a cheaper price at another good brand I use that does have good customer service and so I immediately cancelled this order and and they went ahead and set it out to me anyways and charged me. I cancelled immediately nor hour later or days immediately there was no need for them to send it anyways other then they just wanted to charge me. Now I can see how this company makes there money by ripping people off.

I use this product after illnesses when I'm taking lots of OTC medicines. I typically take it for about 4 weeks every night before bed. It works great, and it helps restore my health. I find that I feel better faster after an illness by taking it. Just so you know, NAC binds to Tylenol and flushes it out of the liver. Of course it binds to other medicines as well, but I thought others might find it helpful since most people take Tylenol to reduce fever during illness. I have considered taking it on a a more regular basis, but so far I haven't made that step yet. I would highly recommend this brand because they don't use allergens or inferior products. They use the forms that are most readily used by the body.
