Outstanding Design and Utility That Works
This is a superbly designed compact stand for your guitar / bass /acoustic instrument. It collapses down to very light and compact package indeed that you can also put in the instrument bag. The design is a genius design in my view. When you use and expand it, don't be too rough - just take it easy as it is mostly plastic (but high quality dense plastic )- pull it apart and erect GENTLY and it will last you a life time. When erected, it has long feet at the front which help to make it stable (distribute the weight). It will even take an Ovation bowl back type of guitar and stand that upright without there being any tendency to move forward - the guitar sits upright and absolutely stable on a FLAT FLOOR (please note). There is no off balance effect at all - you really have to push the instrument forward if you want it to tip forward.I'm not sure that with thicker bodied instruments you'd want to use it in outside gig in high wind but for electric guitars and basses that will essentially be leaning back on the stand, it should not be problem as the instrument will be adding to the weight of those long front stabilisers. There are two yellow expanders on the front to accommodate thicker instruments that press down in order to do so. Normally these will keep your thinner bodied instruments like electric guitar and basses at slight angle and stable on the stand. What else can I say?It works and I'd recommend it to any musician looking for portability or an extra stand.

Light, sturdy, and perfect for my solid-body bass.
I use this stand for my solid-body electric bass both at practice and gigs. It's light, compact, and sufficiently sturdy to take my bass, which isn't particularly light. It's small enough to fit in the front pocket of my gig bag and is a doddle to unfold. The only thing to watch is stability on an uneven floor, where it can wobble a little, but other than that, no issues.

Good overall but a minor concern.
Hercules are my favoured guitar stand manufacturer. They make innovative, good quality and reliable stands and hangers. That's more important for someone who owns several guitars that many might appreciate. This stand is light, portable, and can be used for a variety of guitar types and sizes. The design is clever, the material seems good quality, and the price is about right. My niggle? There is bit more flex in the upright part of the stand than I would like. I have a cheaper folding stand thay feels more rigid. This allows for greater user confidence, I would suggest.Would I buy another? Probably. If the price were discounted.

Makes some good compromises. Has become a standard part of my 'travel-light' gig kit.
Has become a standard part of my 'travel-light' gig kit - it's lightweight and fits nicely in the front pocket of a gig bag. There's a stability/trust compromise for any bottom-only guitar stand, but this works well for stage for me. Because it's designed to be used for either thin or fat bodied (electric vs acoustic) guitars, it has a larger 'floor' than strictly needed and you have to be precise when using it to make sure it catches in the right spot.

Sturdy, lightweight, small and well-designed guitar stand with a nice feature...
I echo the other reviews on here about this guitar stand. I wanted to mention another feature that I thought was very practical. If you have a space that is long and thin (like a window area) that you want to keep your guitars within, the stands will stack back and back, and will merge together. They are less wide than they are length wise, and they sort of form a 'V' shape.I have four guitars stacked back to back in doing this, and I've saved space while doing so. The flipside to this if you want to showcase the front of a particular guitar, you can move the stand/guitar around and choose a nice spot for it :)

Nice product, perfect for a strat.
Use this for my strat. I wouldnāt buy if your concerned someone might knock into it, but if its left alone its perfect.
