Hard to improve on such a brilliant design
Waterpik is one of the few manufacturers to get approval by dental professionals. Quite honestly, I’ll never trust anyone else when it comes to water jet flossing - it’s a technique that wateepik claims removes a far higher percentage of plaque than by just thread-based flossing. Don’t take my word for it, look it up for yourself. The quality of the product is fantastic, it has 10 water pressure levels, multiple water flossing heads, as well as a huge water reservoir so you should never need to top up during a water flossing routine. My one tip would be to use mildly warm water rather than cold water- I just find this makes it even more pleasant if the water is slightly warm. This professional model hasn’t changed much in recent years, simply because it’s hard to improve on such a well designed product. I will never use anything else.

Feels like I've just been to the dentist
This is my fourth water flosser that ive owned in the last 5 years, the others being handheld rechargeables, this is my first plugin flosser. How this compares to the other handheld's.This whitening Waterpik holds more water than any handheld I've owned, its the most powerful I've used so far but its also the most noisy and the most expensive. The 100 psi is probably very accurate and correct, I recently used another flosser that claimed to also be 100 psi but was nowhere near as powerful as this, probably half the power so I am glad I changed my mind and bought this instead. I am not disappointed at all with the power of this waterpik, its very powerful and I use the highest setting, it really does give you that 'just back from the dentist' feeling. This is powerful enough to make your gums bleed until you get used to it, but don't let that put you off buying one because this is very normal reaction if you're new to flossing and your gums do get used to it. You can also turn the pressure down easily if you want, you don't need to use the maximum setting that I do.I have braces on my teeth so I cannot easily slide any flosser around my mouth as is suggested in the Waterpik's instructions and demo video's that are online, so I use the slider on the handle to turn it on and off a lot as I move it around my mouth. The on/off slider does work well, its just a little bit on the stiff side. Handheld flossers have a button that is much easier to use than a slider, and Ive had to use two hands on this handle already to getting it to work a couple of times when my hands got slippy and I couldn't move it with one hand. The grip and size of the handle are fine to hold and use I have no problems with that, its just constantly sliding the on/off that is a bit tricky sometimes. The water tube from the main unit to the handle is a bit short I feel. I have to put the unit of the left side of me and I am right handed so the tubing is extended quite a lot when I use it, this is due to the layout of my bathroom of course but its something I hadnt really thought of. Due to me having to extend the tubing a lot the curled up coil shape that is needed to store the tube inside the unit is not that springy I feel and after just a few uses I am already having to help the tubing back into shape, how long will it cope with this before it becomes a tangled mess I'm not sure. The other reason why I also must extended the tube as I do is again because I have braces. The video's and instructions say put the tip in your mouth hold your head over sink and then switch it on letting the water run out of your mouth. You really cannot do this when you have braces because you need to look in the mirror not the sink, you need to see what you're doing so you dont have a choice in this. You cannot use the ortho tips blindly either with braces, again you need to look in the mirror not the sink. The layout of your bathroom i.e. plug, mirror and also how tall you are are things to really consider with a plugin Waterpik with a handheld you have more flexibility. There is no power cord storage on the main unit. I put mine in the cupboard after each use, I dont have space to leave it out so the mains cord is just left a mess in the cupboard around the unit. This isn't a problem its just for £100 I would of liked this to be considered and they havent.I wouldn't really call this travel size either. Handhelds are easier to pack in a case as they're long and thinner when comparing them by size and shape.I've only had this a few days so will update in the future when I review the 'Whitening' feature. I do hope this feature works and I havent wasted the extra money on a gimmick. Time will tell I guess. I've had braces now much longer than was planned because the pandemic slowed everything down and I have noticed a bit of staining behind the wires so that's why I purchase this machine specifically to help with this. I will update this when ive given it a true test regarding this.So far I am happy with my purchase, I know its not perfect for my bathroom layout but as long as teeth are cleaner and feel clean and hopefully 'whiter' then I'll continue to be happy.I shall update at a later date.

Better than flossing and still working. Power settings useful.
Works well and still using it. The power setting is useful for when I have a sore mouth. Better than flossing and slowly removes plaque over time as well.

Was concerned about the cost but very glad to have shelled out.
I've been using this product for 2 years now and am extremely pleased with the results. My teeth are tight together and floss tape used to jam and disintegrate when forced between them and it was a pain to remove the broken strands. The result was also less than desirable with plaque building up anyway. With the water floss, that doesn't happen and I find it very effective on a setting of 6 (out of 10). It actually broke down some of the plaque that had built up previously so now I'm a happy bunny.

Had it for 6 months and using it regularly
I hate flossing the traditional way and my 6 monthly hygienist appointments are usually long and painful. Last time I went to the dentist I was told I had really bad gums, especially in the top right hand side of my mouth and the hygienist wanted to see me in 4 months time. When I got home I did a quick search and found this item so bought it.OK, you do need to lean over the sink as water comes out of the unit at quite a quick pace and it does splash about when you first use it. After some time I got used to the water flow (which I now use on max) and its easier to control the spray so I don't drench everything in sight.I went back to the dentist a week ago and told them I hadn't flossed the traditional way but used the waterpik instead. I immediately received an odd look and told water flossing was not good enough. Anyway, as soon as she looked inside my mouth she was amazed. My gums are now in superb condition. A couple of tips: take your time, use one container of warm water for each side of your mouth and angle the tip at 45˚ to your gums. Use every day for the first 4 weeks then every other day.I wouldn't live without it now.

Noisy unit?
