Q: Has anyone used these (or similar) while hiking? I have an issue with black toe when coming down steep grades. Also considering using lambs wool?

Yes I have used them hiking. Same issue with the black toe. These work very well for me and my average hike is 10 miles and I wear them on my toes as well.

Q: I wear a size 15 shoe and my big toes are 6” circumference, will these fit?

I believe so. It is very stretchy. To test, I put it over my big toe and 2nd toe.

Q: Size says large? And instruction in ad says to check size before ordering? How will I know if these will fit my big toe?

The toe protector has some stretch in it, because it's silicon, so it was easy enough to place over my big toe
