Our cats love this.
We were looking for a way to let out cats go outside without meeting the local rattlesnakes and coyotes. This catio is the perfect solution. It went together in a few leisurely hours. I set it up on our deck in front of a kitchen window. I replaced the window screen with a piece of melamine board with a pet door in it. I had to construct a short 16" "tunnel" to connect pet door to the catio. In an afternoon it was finished and the cats were out there by that evening. They love being able to come and go as they please and we don't have to worry about them getting eaten. They liked it so much that I bought a matching cat walk and attached it to the side of the catio to give them more space to roam. They love going out there and watching the squirrels and birds. I might add another section in the future. The construction of the catio is only OK. The wood is very soft and while it is "painted", it's really only a paint wash. I don't know how long it will stand up to the sun and rain. I probably should have repainted it before assembly. One good thing about it is that the panels are all removable so if you want to expand it, that's fairly easy. I would recommend it if you want to keep your indoor cats happy and safe.

Time consuming build, but a beautiful result
Building this took several hours and it arrived in two boxes. I definitely recommend two people due to the size. I had my teenage son separate out everything before we started, but we built it together. We built the four walls inside our house, then moved outside to put them all together. The wood is stained and stamped with the assembly letters, which I liked more than peeling off stickers that make a mess after you are done, but it is a bit tougher to see the letters (dark grey on light grey). Make sure your lighting is good when building. The wood is super soft so you have to go very slow when the final screw tightening is done or risk splitting the wood. The wood staining is very visually appealing, but allows for chips or scratches more easily if rubbed against something too hard. Situational awareness is key in this regard. We didn’t go with the standard configuration of shelves/boxes inside but it was very easy to design this to your specific needs. The softer wood also allows for easy customization if you put something other shelves or what have you inside. We ended up cutting a section out of wire out and installing a shelf upside down for the window entrance, for example. You can also easily remove wired sections if you want since the wire is attached with wood staples, but since I knew my location was permanent, I opted to just cut directly into it.We installed this under a covered porch with concrete underneath so we put down a faux grass rug and we also left the roof flat, instead of angled, which saved a small amount of time and doesn’t effect anything because of our placement. At 5’7” I easily fit through the door so I can change things around to suit my current front porch holiday theme. This was a big selling point for me, to not have to duck through the door to enter. We also bought a combination sliding bolt lock for the door so no one could just walk up and open it without the code since we live in a neighborhood and I didn’t want someone possibly walking up and taking my cats. The other small side doors I screwed shut, but this can easily be undone for possible future expansion. All four of our cats already love this catio. It allows them to go outside to view birds and nap in the sun while being protected. All four can easily use it at once and I feel it’s a must so that my indoor cats can experience the outdoors as much as possible. I’m so happy with the beautiful result.

A Purchase Well Worth It
This catio is amazing!!! It's easy, yet tedious, to put together. The pieces will only connect via power drill as one piece will have a drill hole and the other won't. There is a very pungent smell, likely from the sealant they use to make it waterproof. We had to leave the pieces out on the patio for 1.5 weeks before the smell went away enough for us to comfortably build. One person can do most of the work, but it takes two to hold the walls in place to connect. The cats thoroughly enjoy it and often beg to go into it. Definitely worth the splurge for our cats' happiness!

Sadie & Charges Catio
We just ordered this catio which was delivered by surprise 5 days early. It took us more than an hour to put it together per the instructions. The instructions could've been better but we got it. It's definitely a 2 person build. Our kitties absolutely love it. It's was worth the time & money. We will eventually be getting a few tunnel attachments so the can explore. We added a fake grass rug w/drainage so they have a nice area to lay or walk on. The size of the grass rug is 4×6, which we got from Amazon as well. We & our kittie are loving this catio.❤️ 🐾 💙 🐾

Exceeded expectations!
We live in town right off a busy road so there’s no way for the cats to safely go outside. This made it possible! The extra large is the perfect size for 2 cats. It arrived on time, we hired a handy man to come set it up to our window. The window is half open with poles set up inside to prevent anyone from opening it further from the outside and the enclosure was built around that. The cats go in and out through the window from a cat tree we have set up on the inside. The handyman built a little opening for them in the window using wood pieces and a rubber flap to prevent hot/cold air from coming in and out. The kitties love it and have been in it constantly since we set it up. They’ve been keeping an eye on the neighbors and bird watching.
