Not a movement
There is no movement with this box. Just the chimes and wires. No way to connect it to the hands on the face of my clock!

Works well but need to be comfortable with wiring.
I used this item to replace the broken chime in our 18 year old grandmother clock. Like others have stated, the instructions are lacking. But once I combined them with the instructions from my old chime it started to make sense. Wiring is easy - I cut the existing pair between the old clock internals and the old speaker, then soldered the remaining two clock wires to the new speaker. Protect the joint with some heat shrink so they don’t short out. The mounting holes for the old components matched the new ones perfectly. Two new pieces of double sided tape allowed me to reuse the plastic speaker mount in my case. You do not necessarily need to use the SET button at all to set the chimes. Simply set your clock for 6:00 (our clock doesn’t track AM or PM). Then put the batteries in the clock and the chime. Start advancing the clock forward until you get to the current time and you are done. If the current time is after 6pm, you will need to advance all the way around 12 hours and then on to the correct time. If you skip this step, your chime will sound in the middle of the night instead of during the day. For example: the current time is 8:10pm. You start at 6:00am and insert the batteries. Then you keep advancing the time on the clock to 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 etc. all the way past 6:00pm and keep going to 8:10pm. If you stop the first time you reach 8:00 on the clock in this example, your AM and PM times will be reversed. Because my old clock worked this way, I just found it easier and more intuitive than pushing the button.
