63 Brother Colors Embroidery Machine Thread

I have to say I am pleasantly surprised at how beautifully this thread stitches on my projects. I have used silk, rayon, polyester threads from some of the more expensive companies like Gutterman, Madeira and Sulky. I had a lot of breaks and ruined projects from many of those threads. No more! I've been embroidering happily for days now and am saving up for more thread by this seller.Shipped fast and was packaged well.Potential downfalls to those buying this thread: There is no locking base, the numbers are on the top of each spool as a sticker and there isn't a color chart. These things are easily overcome.For the thread: Even with my locking based threads, I prefer to use scotch tape. I found that the locking bases on most threads can shred them and cause tears or breaks. The scotch tape is reusable and keeps the spool from getting tangled in storage. I only use the scotch brand as some of the cheaper ones leave residue. Just a small piece attached to the end of the thread to the spool is all you need.Onto the numbers: Spend the time to peel them carefully off and put them on the inside of the spool. That way you'll still know what number corresponds with Brother Polyester threads.Lastly, the color chart: This is an easy fix, you can find it on Brother's website. I printed it off and keep it in my sewing cabinet. Easy fix.So if you don't mind a little prep work, I say go for it! I love this thread and I am glad I listened to the other rave reviews.For those that are having breakages, there is one thing always to remember: Thread the machine with the presser foot up. Although this might not help for all, this is something many sewing/embroidery machines fail to tell you in the manuals.

These spools are awesome! I am using them in a Brother SE-400 embroidery/sewing combo machine. I made about 10 designs with all different threads so far and no breakage or splittiing. It is true that these spools DO NOT have a thread catch at the end, but I just used an Exacto knife and nicked the plastic base. I have also read that some buyers did not get a color chart with theirs, I did. It does not list color names but I found a Brother chart online and printer that and it had all but three of the colors (I have attatched the one I found). I did something I read in previous reviews and just peeled the number ID sticker off of the end and stuck it inside the spool. I did not have any trouble starting the spools either (which is something else I read other buyers were having trouble with).If you are willing to take about an hour (casual estimate) to set the spools up in these ways, this purchase is completely worth it. If you want a receive and sew, I would recommend a different product.I am more than happy with this purchase and will buy again!

I am new to machine embroidery; I just got my first machine about 2 weeks ago (a Brother SE425). Since I was starting from scratch with everything, I decided to buy this collection of thread to get me started. I went to do my first design which required 7 colors, and every single color was in the collection. There are quite a few other designs I want to do, and I'm sure that I will be able to find whatever color I may need in the 2 convenient boxes that the threads came in.Also, after I finished with my first design, I wanted to keep the bobbins with their matching color thread, so I put the two pieces (thread & bobbin) in a plastic zip-lock snack bag and was able to put them back in the boxes they had come in. Now I don't know if I'll be able to wind bobbins for all 63 colors and fit them back in the boxes with the threads, but so far they fit.I would recommend this collection to anyone, newbies like me or long-time users.
