Glasslock Mixing Bowl, 3.75-Quart,White

I bought two of these bowls for my sourdough baking process. I like to make enough dough for 4 loaves (I bake two at a time) and these bowls are perfect for a double batch. I wanted bowls with airtight covers that I could stack on top of each other if I had to load them in a cooler to take with me to work. The covers lock very tight and there is a useful handle that folds down so the tops are flat. I don't use the handles to carry the bowls, though; I just don't trust the construction to hold if I've got something heavy in the bowls. The bowls themselves, since they are made of glass are quite heavy by themselves.I've read some reviews before purchasing mine that folks reported that the bowls shattered easily - I am very careful when handling and washing them. So far I've had no problems...Anyway, I really like them for proofing my double bread batches. They fit well in the dishwasher and like I said: they work beautifully for what I needed.I'm sure they would be great for taking prepared food to parties or picnics as well!

I have one at work and one at home. These bowls are great. Just remember to take the lid off before heating it up in the microwave (e.g. turn lid upside down to prevent splatter)

Bought this large glass bowl for several of my married children! They all love using it and it travels well because of the seal tight lid. So it makes a great bowl to take to potluck meals. It is made of thick glass and is a little heavy when empty so not for those with weak hands or arms.Great for mixing, serving, and even raising different kinds of dough

Awhile back I had bought a set of Glasslock storage containers, various sizes because all the lids for my decades old Pyrex were crumbling. I shopped with an eye to easy to open and close with arthritic fingers. I liked Glasslock so much! I can close the tabs with the side of my hand and they are easy to pop open as well. I bought two of the 2 quart mixing bowls from this page. So far they are fine, the only small complaint is the seals are not the aqua color in the photo that would have matched my Glasslock storage set, but are instead baby blue. I've read since I purchased that Glasslock will replace lids free, which has certainly got Pyrex beat. You can see the number you need on the bowl or container, and can order on their website. I've read so many reviews worried that the lock tabs seem flimsy and may fail, if they do you can replace them for free so that's a plus.
