SengledSolo JBL Speaker Light Bulb Dual Channel Dimmable LED Light App Controlled 45W Equivalent E26 Smart Timing Music Bulb, Compatible with Alexa via Bluetooth Connection

The Sengled Solo RGBW Bluetooth light took care of two unrelated issues for me. First, I wanted a smart lightbulb that I could turn on and off remotely because the lamp is difficult to access. Second, I've been listening to ambient sound on my phone and I wanted a small Bluetooth speaker to play the background sound instead of my phone. The speaker works well for this purpose and having it positioned in a lamp socket distributes the sound perfectly in the room. I'm also happy that I can play the speaker and turn the light down to zero with the smartphone app. Likewise, I can use the light without the speaker. What a nice, versatile device! I don't use Alexa so can't comment on that functionality. I'll update this review on the durability when I've used it for a while.

JBL=Just Bs & LiesAfter just 1 hour of continued use of this JBL stereo Smartbulb [in a socket rated same as the bulb wattage], the tweeters decided to include the invasive noise of screechy maracas. My wife and I really hate this because we are longtime fans of JBL and many of thier different audio equipment and (honestly) this was the best sounding smartbulb we ever found (until after the first hour when it stopped working/sounding properly). But I think JBL decided they made enough money over the years and it's time to start burning patrons by selling them pretty & brand-new junk in a pretty box. I say this based on this bulb, some pretty expensive headphones that died after exactly 90 days & other disappointing JBL products. You heard it right JBL -- we're not buying any more of your products because they're a rip off. I shoulda listened to the info in the videos & reviews & saved myself the hassle of another disappointment & its returned purchase. Thanks JBL!Also the volume never really got loud enough to be damaging to the speakers, even at full volume, and the whole unit got pretty hot to the touch within 15 minutes. Junk.Oh, BTW the "multiple app suite" to try to navigate to find the correct path to the dimmer and other smartbulb functionality is simply a 3-card-monty to slow consumers down as they're trying to find the app that actually works with the smartbulb. Spoiler alert: none of them do and I never even made it to pairing with Alexa (but I bet that's just another trash-ass gimmick lie to increase sales after seeing how this product is so shotty). I would've included a video but after the 1st hour into the shrieking sounds of rice crispy city, I was so bent I could barely process the return. Take my word for it and don't waste your time & money on this stereo smartbulb!

This was my first foray into smart home products as I wanted to put some festive color lights on my back patio sconce, and having a bluetooth speaker was the icing on the cake, as now I can play music while gardening or hanging by the fire pit. I wouldn't recommend installing this bulb in a sconce that isn't protected from rain, but so far our Solo lamp is working fabulously as the porch lamp sconce is upside down so it shields the bulb from the elements.I also purchased a couple white Pulse Master/Satellite pairs for the bathroom fixtures and one thing I love about the RGB solo bulb over the Pulse bulbs is the solo bulb is not so wide, so it fits more like a regular bulb. It's still heavy compared to a standard bulb, but that is to be expected. Honestly, no matter which one you choose, they're all more attractive than the CFL lamps they are replacing.I love that I can choose colors or set to a pattern for the RGB solo bulb. I currently have the rainbow pattern set up and I've set the bulb to remember the setting so that I don't have to choose it again when I turn it back on.The sound quality of the Sengled bulbs is quite average and certainly doesn't deliver much bass, but that is to be expected for a speaker with such a small footprint...actually it's probably good that there isn't much bass to shake the fixtures.The Sengled Pulse app (which controls the Pulse bulbs and the Solo bulbs) works just fine, but be aware that while technically you can connect to all the bulbs on Bluetooth settings simultaneously (at least I can on my iPhone SE 2020), you can actually only update settings for one master at a time, so in reality, sound will only play for the last master bulb you turned the switch on for.You do choose which bulbs to play by choosing to connect to that bulb on bluetooth, turning on the switch, and standing near the bulb so that the Sengled Pulse app controls show for that bulb.As far as I am aware, you can only PLAY one master bulb at a time, so this means since each Solo bulb acts as it's own Master, you cannot set other Solos as satellite to play music on multiple Solo bulbs simultaneously from the same phone. Maybe there is a way around this somehow, but I haven't figured it out yet.I would LOOOOOVE to see RGB satellite speaker bulbs. Man, I would be so excited if I could set all my lamps to orange, purple, and green and play halloween music, or red and green and play christmas music.Being the novice that I am, I haven't attempted to set up any speaker bulbs to connect with my TV, but I did see a setting in the manual so I will consider for the future.Keep it up, Sengled- you have a wonderful product here, and I would happily buy many more if you sold RGB satellite speaker bulbs.

Makes for a fun addition to a kids room. Pu this in my daughters room and now she can listen to music whenever she likes. Pros: easy to install and set up, even without the manufacturer app.Cons: because it is a Bluetooth device it is susceptible to connection problems. Every once in a while it fails to connect automatically and I have to manually do it. The sound is good for what it is just keep in mind that this is not a deep base sleeker. The light output is very directional so unless you are putting this in a can light don’t expect it to light a room properly.So you might be asking “with so many cons why am I still giving 4 stars?” Well the thing is it is a great fit for my situation. I was reluctant to buy a device that was alway listening to my daughter like an echo or google home. This allows my daughter to enjoy listening to her music while maintaining that barrier of privacy. Also the speaker is good. It easily fills her room with her music but isn’t capable of being overly loud and Obnoxious. We use the light in a directional reading lamp and for that it works well. All in all it work well for what it is.
