The white screen is only on the front side. It can’t be projected from the rear.

Q: Can it be left outside?

I left it outside all summer and it was fine. It just needed wiping before winter storage.

Q: Does this screen work for rear projection?

Yes, both front and rear projection are applicable, you can project as needed

Q: can the screen be partially folded so that it is easily stored? I'm thinking of a side fold where you stretch it out to use it without disassembly.

I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you. Once I assembled my screen I stored it that way.
