What material is the beak/spatula made of?

The Ototo website says the spatula is made of plastic and silicone. The packaging says BPA free. I would guess the "beak" is made of silicone because it is soft and flexible and the handle is hard and rigid, so probably the plastic part of the spatula.

Is beak of spatula fairly stiff and maintains shape or soft and pliable ?

It has some pliability but is firm enough to grab that peanut butter. Overall, I would say it is more soft than firm, but I do love mine. It has been a good purchase for our needs.
