Great all round cookbook
One of my first Martha cookbooks ( I've now got 15), yet this by far is the best. The recipes actually work and are reliable. Although no pictures- the recipes are soo enticing it does not bother me

Crab bisque!
Full of good recipes: no pictures or fluff to take up space.

A great compilation
This book is a compilation of several of Martha Stewart's popular cookbooks. Since there are only a few illustrations, such as rolling puff pastry and splitting pea pods, The Martha Stewart Cookbook may not be suited to the inexperienced cook. Although it is a bit bland because of the lack of pictures, this 600 page tome is really value for money with literally a hundred recipes to choose from for each course, all concise yet clearly explained. This book is a good resource for traditional North American cooking. ranging from chowder to glazed ham to devil's food cake.
