Good quality fitting for thinner walled hose.
The OD of the inner insert measures .490 The ID of the outer measures .575 that’s the crown of the treadsToo tight for my rubber hose that measured .645 OD. .405 ID wall thickness of .120

Great so far, even on rubber hose. Just make sure your hose is the right size.
I added silicone grease to the threads of the smaller inner piece (not the threads of the main piece that go over the outside of the hose) before assembling and this rubber hose did not get pushed out like some others have reported. The inner piece went to the full depth without issue and works like a champ thus far. Just make sure your hose measurements match the specs for this part (3/8" ID and 5/8 (~0.625)" OD).And being reusable, the next time the hose does fail at the connection, just disassemble, cut another couple of inches off the hose and put it back together again.

If you need to repair a 38 ID by 580D air hose this is the ticket very happy with my purchase and the best thing is they are reusable if you spray another leak you can just make the hole shorter

fixed my hose
Was difficult to get the first piece on the hose, I guess that is good because I think it means it is tight. Once the 2nd piece went on it was nice and snug and does not appear to leak. Great repair piece and good alternative to buying a new hose.

Verify fit before you buy
I purchased this for a 3/8 air hose but the wall thickness was to much to allow me to use this fitting. I could not find an O.D. dimension on the ad, unfortunately I couldn't make it work. It is a quality part and the price is very reasonable so I'm not unhappy with the vendor. Just wish the O.D as well as the I.D dimensions were both listed.

Fixed my retractable air hose
Easy install on my Harbor Freight retractable hose. No detectable leaks. Will update if something goes bad.
