Easy to use and saves time and effort
This is a good all around tool and works well. Its powerful enough to bore the holes in the garden spcially if you are planing to install decking or posts for fencing. Its generally used for softer ground and easy to use and starts well every time. I am happy with the buy as it save a lot of time efford to dig the ground. easy to assemple and clean. Ifyou are digging the garden , be carful with the larger roots and stones in the ground.

Expected better quality even if not the best...
Its NOT quality but poorly done - choke is marked wrongly (OFF is ON), took me long time to figure out why it keeps shutting down. Vibrations on the engine are over the top. Other reviews show how the top bit is plasticky and gets ripped off.. Thanks to Amazon I have been able to return this what is poor quality product, Better invest more in something better quality or thinking of buying electric earth auger for similar kind of price, hopefully that will be more suitable for DIY use.

Greta machine.
Great little machine, but remember to keep the revs low and best take the first 12 inches out by hand to make sure no roots or heavy bricks in the ground as does snatch if rev to much and it catches a root or something, also best to keep the weight some off the drill do not force it in the ground, then it works fine, saved me many hours. Pending on ground condition this machine is everything you need.

Drilled one hole rather well, then fell apart.
My machine drilled one hole, so it gets 2 stars for doing what it is supposed to do quite well, but it has a really awkward to use, flimsy plastic pull start that broke off after no more than 6 or 7 start ups.The problem is 2 fold.Firstly, you obviously need to hold the machine upright to start boring a hole and with the exhaust facing away from you, then start it. This means you steady the machine with your right hand and pull the start cord sideways with your left, which requires more force than you would like. I’m not left handed so that is awkward and the natural tendency is to pull up as well as out, which puts strain on the pull start housing and you never feel fully in control of the machine as it fires up.Secondly, the pull start housing is plastic. At the 3rd or 4th start up it split on one of the bolt holes, but I was still able to operate the mechanism by pressing down on the housing with my right hand to keep it engaged (loads more holes to drill so keep going somehow!). Inevitably, I forgot to press down on the housing, which snapped off leaving the coil mechanism dangling from my left hand (see photo of broken unit).Of further concern is that, having come off in my hand and revealed its inner workings, I can see that the nylon cogs already had signs of wear after such little use (see photo). In summary, my machine lasted long enough to bore one hole, then became a useless lump of metal and plastic.I am waiting to see how the supplier resolves this but my advice is to avoid this machine. If you are still tempted by the low price and Hyundai brand (as I was) then be very careful how you start it (especially if you are not left handed) and it should do a fine job.
