Dylan's Candy Bar

I love this book
a lady that brought her love of candy into being with her own very well equipped candy or sweet shelves. Would like to own a shop like that myself and I agree with her about the song from Willy Wonka's movie. She could give me a job any day and I'd be happy to work for free. I like it when she came back from holiday with a suit case full of sweets rather than clothes from her travels, lucky lady

It's A Sweet Life
Dylan's Candy Bar was on my list of 'go to's' in NYC after seeing her on Oprah from my (now) home in Edinburgh, Scotland. If you can't get there, get this book and it will give you a flavour of what Dylan/it is all about. An excellent coffee table book, the composition, quality and layout of the photographs are stunning, the colours vibrant, the seasonal suggestions creative and the text personal and informative. I would have liked a few more photos of the interior of the 'Bar', as well as window displays, because the floor coverings were more exciting than those shown. I nearly became dizzy walking down the stairs!! However, I took plenty of photos and, believe me, there is a LOT worth taking, as well as buying! Like the book, 'Dylan's' can be enjoyed on many levels (no pun intended!). Now that I have the book, I can almost recall the smell of a sweet factory, which hits you immediately. This book is a visual sugar rush to the brain, Candyland made real, rainbow ready. My family knows me for my candy obsession so this was heaven to me. But if you're at all artistic, creative or looking for sweet ideas, chew this one over.
