Perfect size Bug zapper
The Bug zapper is very well made. Metal fram and front grill. Bug trap is. Very easy to remove and replace. Overall it's a very nice zapper. Hope this helps.

This is basically just a nightlight that’s it
I previously had a bug zapper not this one the circle one that actually zaps the bugs. This does not zap. This one not do anything. The mosquitoes and the Nats actually hang out in the bottom and fly right around the purple bars and it does absolutely nothing do not waste your money by the round one that actually zaps And does not allow them to fly around and hang out inside the trap like there at a party

Zapper works! Guard rails too forward!
I recently purchased this indoor bug zapper and found it to be fairly effective at eliminating most bugs. However, there is a significant design flaw that affects its performance: the guard rails are positioned too far forward, which allows some bugs to escape getting zapped. While the zapper does catch and eliminate a good number of insects, not all of them are fully trapped due to this issue. In the second photo, you’ll see that I removed one of the guard rails to see if this would improve the zapper’s effectiveness. Before doing this, I made sure the device was turned off and unplugged, then carefully used pliers to remove the rail. I’m hoping this adjustment helps improve the performance, but it’s something I shouldn’t have had to do with a new product. Overall, I give this zapper three stars. It works, but the design flaw with the guard rails detracts from its overall effectiveness.

Low-power, but attracts night, flying insects and kills them.
The pictures may make this unit appear larger than it really is. The blue LEDs are in tubes so they look like fluorescent bulbs (which they most definitively are not.) Like most bug zappers, they attract flying insects at night. Most flying insects are moths. Yes, mosquitos also fly at night, but they are less interested in blue light than the CO2 and heat emanated by humans. This is sold as a mosquito zapper. I'd say it is more of a moth zapper and perhaps a daytime fly zapper. But for it to work to kill flies, it needs to be placed in a less illuminated area, but also where flies are active. I'm still experimenting with this unit. I was unable to get any UV-reactive surfaces to react to this light. I do not think this blue light has any UV component to it. I suspect the LEDs are producing only blue colored light. The protective screens are not hard to remove to clean the electrical (electrocution) grid and lighting tube surfaces. But I think the plastic grippers that need to give when popping off the screens will possibly give out after the plastic sits in the sun for days (if using this outdoors.) This is what I do not like: I don't care for the tiny "dead bug" tray and I think the manufacturer missed an important feature: Add an electrical grid ALSO to the backside of the unit to increase the kill numbers. Plugged into a timer and GFCI outlet and **carefully** hung near a backyard pond or an indoor aquarium, the koi, or goldfish, just might like the BBQ'd bug treats.
