Useful and inexpensive! .... a tool everyone should have in their shop.
This tool is so useful I carry it in my carpenters apron all the time. I use it for scribing and punching holes in all sorts of things. It's inexpensive and quite effective. I love the fluted handle too. Yes, I recommend buying it.

Good awl, but don’t use it for prying
Good solid awl, fairly priced. I have broken the tips off a number of them by using them as prying tools, so they are definitely not meant for that. The steel is nice and hard which is useful for maintaining the sharp point but it also makes it brittle. Even after breaking the tips off I just buy another so overall it’s a good tool but just don’t expect to be able to pry with it. If the steel were a little less brittle I’d give it a 5 but for the price it’s still a decent buy

Perfect for punching holes
This is a very sturdy, and quite pretty product. I use it for sewing button holes for accurate 17-1800s bodices before they use grommets. It works PERFECTLY for my needs.

Awl's Great
Needed the awl for making holes in material to fit a crochet hook through. It is extremely sharp and saved me a lot of elbow grease. Perfect for my needs. I really liked the round wooden handle that made it easier on my hand and worked great.
