Like-New Amazon Echo Show 5 (newest model), Smart display, Designed for Alexa+, 2x the bass and clearer sound, Charcoal

***READ ME*** I'm rating this 5* only so the people may see my opinion since Amazon has a habit of only displaying the high ratings. -buyer beware- The sound quality for music is not good. I'd rate it at BEST 3/10. Bass is nonexistent, honestly the only thing that sounds good on this device is the responsive voice itself. Which, if that's what you're looking for, great! 👍🏻 The system is glitchy, it'll randomly turn off at times and won't turn back on without a hard reset of unplugging for 5 minutes and plugging it back in. Not ideal as it's supposedly a hands free assistant. The ads? Oh. My. God. Constant, always advertising something. And don't be fooled, Alexa listens. Yes, she'll curate specific ads for you based on what you talk about in your home: whether you liked the item, or not, she heard it, she's showing it. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I bought this device for the multipurpose aspects she advertises to use. Such as, viewing compatible cameras around the house. Does she do that? Nope. Bought new specific cameras for this Alexa, she can't be bothered. ALTHOUGH... She has been great for this: the weather, setting timers, and (when she works) displaying the time. If you're looking for much more than that, I'd recommend you look somewhere else. Love my echo. But sometime she acts up. So I have to do a restart so it can work correctly again. Other than that it is great.

Glad we upgraded to this model, Echo Show 5. Has worked well, and we like seeing the display.

I have 2 Echo Dots and recently Purchased the Echo Dot Show 5 after buying Ring Wireless Doorbell. My thought was that I would be able to see "someone at the door" (like a delivery person) when they were detected. By the time The Show displayed the Ring camera after the announcement the someone was long gone. #1 It is the slowest Dot to respond to ANYTHING including commands, requests etc. of the 3 that I own! #2 The constant display of advertisements, products is annoying. I have set controls unchecking any and all possible ads. It still displays ads. It is impossible to have it only showing time/date etc.! #3 I have the screen time-out set but it does not ever shut off the display on it's own. I have to go to the Alexa app to manually turn it off. Also, once it does respond to a request or make any type of notification it does not return to display off and the last thing it did stays on the screen! #4 The display itself is NOT bigger than the one on my phone! #5 It uses different commands for certain functions. I could go on but I think these sum up my disappointment. As of right now, I do not see an advantage for my use. Someone using it for other purposes might find it useful. I HAVE STARTED THE RETURN PROCESS

After a bumpy start, I can say now that I like the Echo Show 5. I generally try to buy refurbished or like-new on Amazon as you can get great buys and this was one. I wanted the Echo Show to mimic a clock with large disay yet still work my devices. Problem was when setting it up, in the beginning it asked if I wanted to install Alexa+ and I did so thinking it a good thing. But then, I couldn't find how to get to the clock themes as with Echo Show 5 you can set it to display a large clock. Alexa+ takes the option away from the device and you won't be able to make any clock changes except for a small clock display or a 24-hr clock mode. The Alexa+ hides any other option. Once I found that out by going online to find the problem, I uninstalled Alexa+, and now it works just like I wanted.

I love my Alexa! She is very helpful and very easy to use! Sound quality is great!

Love it Game changer

I bought the Echo Show 5 thinking it would basically work like my regular Alexa, but with a screen that could show useful information like the time, weather, timers, and smart home controls. I mostly wanted a smart alarm clock and bedside assistant. The problem is the screen is constantly rotating promotional content and suggestions. Instead of acting like a helpful smart clock, it feels like a small billboard on my nightstand. Even after turning off most of the home screen content in settings, it still regularly shows things like shopping suggestions and prompts to try new Alexa features. To be fair, I probably should have researched it more before buying, but I didn’t expect ads and promotional content to be such a big part of the experience. I just wanted something simple that showed the time and useful info unless I asked for something. The device works fine for voice control, alarms, and smart home commands, but the constant promotional screens really take away from what could have been a great bedside device. If you want a smart alarm clock with minimal distractions, this may not be the best choice. If you don’t mind the rotating suggestions and promos, it may not bother you as much.
