Love this Hematite Glaze!
This odd little pot that I made became the tester for my new Speedball glazes. I purchased the Hematite (to replace another brand's Mirror that I didn't like), Dragon Stone and the Blackened Copper. I used all three on this pot. I used 3 fairly heavy coats of the Hematite on the lid and am so thrilled with how it turned out. It didn't run all over everything. In fact, it didn't run at all . And, the texture still shines through. Such a fun glaze. The Blackened copper I used on the outside all over (x3) and the inside (x3). I used the Dragon Stone on the top edge of the pot, but I did continue it down over the Blackened Copper. The Dragon Stone looks great on the ledge, but did run heavily over the copper on the sides of the pot. I like the overall effect, it was just a bit unexpected. The inside of this pot is beautiful! The Blackened Copper turned out exactly as the jar promised. Beautiful satin red and black throughout. On the outside, the results were not as dramatic-mostly a pretty brown made shiny because of the Dragon Stone flowing over it. I am testing another piece with the Blackened Copper outside with nothing on top to see how it behaves. While I love the results of the Blackened Copper, my jar is very runny and smells like rotten eggs. I don't mind if it turns out the results are consistent as promised. I can hold my nose while I glaze. This was my first experience with Speedball pottery glazes-I love them so far!

Pretty but takes a little trial and error
On the mug, I painted raspberry fizz and living coral (2 coats each). On the jar, I used 3 coats of Prisma green with a metallic lid handle. These glazes come out super smooth and shiny. Fired to cone 6 on Iceman clay.

Pretty in pink
I really like how the blushing white turned out. It is a pretty, pale pink. I applied three layers and the underglazes I applied in my etchings peeks through. (The flakiness you can see is my mistake in doubling up the underglaze to change the color.). I also really like how the pink tone is not completely matte but also isn’t high gloss. Overall, I’m really happy with the results.

Needs More Coats Maybe- but Okay Color (Wisteria)
I bought this glaze because I wanted some new mid-fire (cone 5-6) glazes that I wasn't going to pay and arm and a leg for. Some of these speedball glazes for $15-17 and others are $23-27. This Wisteria color was on the cheaper side and I liked it. I did one firing of it, and it turned out thin and didn't perform as well as I wanted it to. I am going to put another coat on for the next time and try to fire to 6 (instead of 5) and try again to see how it turns out. Overall, the glaze seems a bit chunky, but okay. Spreads well and dries quickly (always a plus!!). Hoping the next firing turns out better than the first piece. I thought about adding another coat and trying to refire the same piece, but was worried about the glaze running. We will see. I will try to remember to update this post after the next firing. First impression though is that the Amaco glazes are better than these Speedball glazes. We will see!

Glaze
Used on a charcoal clay body, love the results, a sort of blush color for the interior of my pumpkin bowl.

Speedball Nightshade is the best cone 5-6 glaze as a black.
I used this new speedball Nightshade black glaze as the base coat. I painted 3 coats then added raspberry fizz and blue moss and Mayco Cosmic tea dust. The raspberry fizz turned purple but the glazes look beautiful together. I am going to try this combination again and test done other colors with the Nightshade as a base. I also used it over Soeedball living coral and with cosmic tea dust. Attached are photos

Color not as pictured
This doesn’t look anything like the example show in the posting. Too expensive for a small jar that doesn’t give what you paid for
