I recently purchased this SoloWilder Fire Pit Mat to use in our hot tent under a titanium wood stove, and after the first test run, I’m really impressed with how well it worked. It held up perfectly, providing exactly the protection I was looking for, and it’s definitely one of my top purchases for outdoor gear. The mat is made of fiberglass material with an insulating coating, and you can tell it’s designed to handle high temperatures. We used it under the stove, and it protected the tent floor from any burns or heat damage. At 20” x 20”, it’s a great size for fitting under a small wood stove or fire pit, and I love how lightweight and portable it is. It folds up easily and can be stored in a bag for easy transport, which is great when you’re on the go. One of the best features is the ability to secure the mat with ground nails. It’s great. Fire resistant. Size is perfect for the price.

I’ve only used it on the bare ground under my tent stove, so I can’t comment on how well it would protect a tent floor. However, I can say that there have been no indications of heat on the ground under the mat, so I think it would do just fine.

If a hot ember falls on this mat it won’t burn, but if you have it on a vinyl tent floor the embers will still burn holes through the vinyl. There is no insulation underneath, so I would recommend putting it on a flame retardant material between this mat and the tent floor.

Put it on some wood planks under stove to see how protective it will be, as I'd like to use the stove on our deck, if safe to do so. So far, so good.
