HOTHEAD Balaclava, Black

My Ears are Hot! Now , when I first opened this I thought it was very thin and did not think it would help very much in the cold while riding my bicycle. Needless to say, it is perfect for riding your bike in the cold! It fits great under my helmet. I wear it without it covering my mouth or nose because it gets moisture on the inside and fogs up my glasses. Very impressed with how well it does and glad I did not get a thicker balaclava because this is perfect for an active person wanting to stay active in the winter. I have also noticed that it kind of freaks out my neighbors when I wear it because I look like a ninja (or someone up to no good)! But, you have to do what you have got to do to stay warm!I can't speak for the durability yet, but have road this in the cold, even in the rain today, and my ears definitely loved me for it. Will update if need be.

Decent quality for sure and good shape. You can also tell that it breaths pretty well, but I would not wear this with goggles as the air still comes strait up. I would not recommend this if you have an above average nose size. My nose is a little big and so if fits uncomfortably tight to it. I doubt I even try wearing this as I am ordering the kind that has a separate piece that pulls up over your nose (Under Armour infared tactical hood). I know in the past those have worked great, but you just have to pay a little more.

The balaclava is well made with tightly sewn seems.It is long enough to protect the neck and tuck under a jacket. It is thin but does help keep you head warm. I do think my polypropylene one is a little warmer. This is hard to judge so far as I didn't receive it till late winter/early spring so not as many real cold days to test it on. It did fit a little tight, I am hoping it will stretch out over time. When worn over the nose my glasses did fog up; that and the tightness is the only thing keeping it from five stars.

Used it once doubt I will use it again. Material is stiff and scratchy also has a odd Odor to it which 80% disappeared after washing. I have 2 cheaper ones that are much nicer. Can’t recommend it.

Well I bought my first Maxit balaclava 16 years ago from the Army Navy while homeless for a year. I slept outdoors during that harsh winter and this balaclava was the only one that worked for me. It's thin, warm, stretchy, lasted 3 years of constant usage. I've tried many balaclavas and none of them lasted very long or actually fit my face and neck like these do. Maxit has my business for life! Thanks guys, you saved me from having to stay in a shelter.

Like in the image, the upper brow and lower forehead are really exposed which leaves the face a little cold. Looks silly too. Got these for going to my son's football games in the winter. Good enough.

This hood is very warm when cycling. I like it because it can be worn over my nose or just covering my mouth. If it gets too warm I can slide the face part all the way down to my neck.

I saw this balaclava used by the football players in Green Bay and decided to give it a try. I am average height and weight for a jogger and the balaclava fit just fine. It is lycra so should fit anyone under 250 pounds. It is perfect for cold weather jogging and snow shovelling. I use it and a ball cap in inclement weather. Could not be happier.
