NexiGo Aurora Pro, Ultra Short Throw 4K Tri-Color Laser Projector, 2400 Lumens, Screen Adoption, Dynamic Dimming, Dolby Vision & Atoms, HDR10, HLG, Active 3D, 60W Speakers, UST TV

I've had a projector since 2006 - first an epson 720, then a panasonic AE3000 1080, which unfortunately blew up a couple of years ago. Bought a cheap £160 one off amazon to keep me going until I could save up for a 4k projector. What I found is that there is always a compromise in a projector - you get a huge screen but comes at the expense of colour / brightness or focus etc. The Panasonic was lovely, but had quite a soft image, whereas I prefer a sharper image. Did a ton of research over the last year and ended up with the Nexigo Aurora Pro - mainly as I have a completely dark cinema with no windows so although not the brightest, it's perfect for a dark room. Also, I wanted a UST to better suit the layout of the room. Initially I projected onto a painted white wall and can honestly say it looked absolutely stunning. Anyone saying you "need" an ALR screen is simply wrong, you don't. It may be better, but the wall projection is perfectly acceptable. (I did end up getting a Duronic 120" screen more for aesthetic reasons than necessity). In my living room I have a 55" sony oled, and honestly, the picture from the Nexigo is comparible. I'm no expert but it is genuinely stunning. Sharpness is incredible, colour is nicely saturated. Brightness is perfect. Setup is easy, simply plug it in, and line up the image. The sound from the unit is good, but I already have a 7.1 / 5.1.2 atmos setup through an Onkyo home cinema receiver. I was worried about the dreaded "rainbow effect" but thankfully it is absolutely minimal - sometimes can be seen when I walk out the room and I am moving across the picture, but when I am sat watching, it is not an issue and I am very susceptible to seeing it. Sound levels are much lower than my old Panny, which was incredibly loud and the fact is is now 4.5 m away from us means you barely hear the fan noise at all and I am running in brightest mode, you can minimise the fan noise even more by using normal, or eco modes. I think my only gripe is the remote is a bit unresponsive, you have to point it direct to the unit and even then, it doesn't always register a button press. All in all, a great bit of kit 10/10.

I didn't think a projector this tiny could replace my bedroom TV, but here we are. I was worried the 1080p wouldn't look sharp at 100+ inches, but it’s crisp and the brightness is impressive for its class. We’ve used it for movie nights and even a bit of gaming, and the lag is barely noticeable. It’s quiet, easy to move from room to room, and the sound from the built-in speakers is surprisingly decent. If you’re looking for a portable laser setup, this is definitely the one to beat.

My first projector. I had a baseline i wanted to clear. 1080p HDR ~1000 ANSI Lumens Laser.I've been researching for a good half a year and there were maybe like 3 candidates at a similar price point and this on first glance appeared to beat the rest.TL;DR: It's so close to great, but it has quality control issues. (noisy fan on 1st unit and not-uniform focus on 2nd unit). It has such good colors/brightness/sound and for 1080p it's so sharp. It has acceptable latency for casual gaming on PC/Game mode (no keystone). I have a 4k240Hz Oled and 1080p high bitrate movies (or even HDR (high bitrate yt videos)) looked super good.(For the below assume my screen size is ~80inch projected on a white wall)The Good:daytime Brightness is good enough to watch daytime TV and well lit sports (football). It's pleasant even with lights on and cloudy winter days... (for me)In dark room or night time it's AMAZING. The colors are great, the brightness is great, HDR is super good. It's bright enough that it lights up the room and raises the black levels back to it :) )1080p is super sharp and clear (more on this later though).It accepts HDR 4k60 and 1080p120 via HDMI from PC after you change HDMI EDID version to 2.1 in settings. Picture is HDR, but it's still 1080p60Hz feels like, not 120Hz (it was never marketed for 120fps but it accepts it which might be handy for some consoles).Sound is very pleasant and balanced and better/on par with a mini bluetooth speaker when you set it to Music in settings. Don't use Dialogue option, makes the sound tiny.It's super silent, volume at level 5/100 is enough to cover the fan noise.The bad:The built-in GoogleTV OS is often very slow to navigate, Twitch.tv app 1080p60fps content drops frames a lot and crashes easy. Vast majority of apps will work just fine. If you use an HDMI device then the projector navigating settings etc is respectably fast.Auto keystone is unreliable and wonky on relatively bright room.Touch controls are slow to navigate so you're basically forced to use the remote. If you keep autokeystone/autofocus on move then you will accidentally trigger it way too easy if you have the projector on the gimbal stand or tripod. Autokeystone can range from being rather slow to very slow depending on lighting conditions.The ugly: (perhaps just my unit only. I don't know)Focus uniformity is not good enough, at least in my unit. Partly due to physics/geometry, parts of the screen on the wall are gonna be further away from the projector. Whatever the reason, even in perfect projecting placement conditions, the bottom middle portion of the screens where subtitles usually is not focusing the same way as just about everywhere around it and it was very noticeable to me.It's not very noticeable if you just watch TV/movies, but once some text detail is needed I DID notice it and it was one of those things that was bugging me, all the time.Connecting it to a PC and playing games would get me pissed, because UI elements are super sharp everywhere and that bottom middle is like going from 1080p to 900p. The difference is even worse if you intend to project at an angle, because digital keystone at vertical up would make the difference even more jarring, like 1080p to 720p. It simply feels so bad to start reading one line of text go from bottom left super clear, to middle muddy and back to clear again on the bottom right.I intended to use the projector often enough with my PC and also nintendo Switch. It's inevitable i would keep noticing that jarring spot and after couple of weeks i just couldn't stand it anymore. The focus difference isn't very noticeable if you project at less than 60inch roughly and straight on with no keystone. I never intended to use the projector at more than 80inch but 60inch is just not good enough for me. The projector claims up to 150inch? ehh...This issue was the deal breaker for me as the 2nd unit i got.First unit i got had what seemed like a faulty fan noise, whirring like high power coil whine noise but it must have been one of the fans if it has two or something. It was very noticeable at up to volume level 15-20 /100 before the content audio would drown noise. My 2nd unit had no such fault and was whisper quiet.Eye protection is simply not trustworthy. It's very unreliable in bright rooms and when you use the builtin OS and it's struggling performance wise. So much so, that you can cross at a slow pace and it will react after you have crossed and possibly get a child blinded just because the CPU was overloaded. Using an external device on HDMI alleviates the problem and it is very much reliable at night time, but day time it's still not good. The problem with such a feature is that you want it to work EVERY time, not half bad some of the time.Overall, there were many relatively minor issues that i was willing to overlook, a lot of which could be overcome/alleviated with using external HDMI device. But the focus uniformity issue was just too much for me. It was jarring to see sharp text right next to blurry text. I was pleasantly surprised to see how good 1080p looked even at 80inch, as long as it was high bitrate. But watching movies without subtitles isn't all i wanna do on my projector.Considering this is my 2nd device i didn't want to try my luck with a 3rd. Perhaps others will have better luck than me. If i were to live with the shortcomings it would have to be WAY lower price than even the discounted price it was recently. Definitely not worth the full retail price though, in my opinion...

I bought this projector after going through numerous reviews and articles on the best ultrashort throw 4k projector out there in 2023 and 2024. The best ones have the advantage of day time viewing because of increased ANSI lumens but pale in comparison to Nexigo pro for night viewing and it's display of black details. Moreover Nexigo pro is still decent in day viewing. I am currently using it without the ALR screen and the projection is still decent. I can't imagine what it would look like with the ALR screen combo. I am happy with the projector so far. It has a fancy turn on light show function like you're starting a posh car.

Got this in sale, and has been great. no issues at all. Awesome pic and features, and well supported with firmware updates. Awesome for PS5 gaming & watch movies.

Avoid: Failed at 8% of Advertised Lifespan – No SupportI purchased the NexiGo Aurora Pro in December 2023 for £2,479.12. The product is explicitly marketed with an "Average Life Span" of 20,000–25,000 hours. After approximately 1,600 hours of light use (roughly 8% of its advertised life), the laser engine suffered a catastrophic failure, resulting in an orange/red tinted image with permanent dark spots. Despite acknowledging the 20,000-hour expectation, NexiGo Support and Amazon have both refused a free repair or replacement, citing that the unit is past its 12-month manufacturer warranty.They claimed that 26 months of ownership constitutes "satisfactory use" and "typical average life," which directly contradicts their own technical specifications.The Facts:Price Paid: £2,479.12 Advertised Life: 20,000+ Hours Actual Life Achieved: ~1,600 Hours (8%) Resolution Offered: A £330 ($400) repair bill and two pairs of 3D glasses.If you expect a premium laser projector to last more than two years, look elsewhere. A product failing at 8% of its promised lifespan is not "durable" or "fit for purpose" under UK Consumer Law, yet this brand refuses to stand behind its own claims once the 12-month clock runs out.

This projector is billed as a "portable" projector. I think this is wrong. Sure it is powered by a USB-C connector and has a small size (just 7.8 x 7.8 x 2.3 in. / 19.7 x 19.7 x 5.8 cm); this is offset by its weight (3 lbs / 1.36 kg), glass top and lack of a battery. Instead, I think makes a great home projector. I chose this projector over others because it uses a laser instead of a lamp as a light source and I wanted a projector for the next few years until multi-laser, 4k projectors come down in price. I also was impressed by the positive reviews of Nexigo's dynamic contrast algorithm and software updates.I am using the Nova Mini in a room without blackout curtains and the brightness is adequate to view in daytime with a regular semi-transparent shade. Obviously it would be better with blackout curtains, but I'm not as sensitive to image quality as I am to screen size.The room is painted a medium brown and I project it at 100" (254 cm) diagonal directly on the wall. The results are fantastic. I would have thought that "black" would be the wall color but it is not and the dark wall color diminishes the reflection from the window.Some negatives: I would rather have had Roku as an option for the OS. It ships in Europe with a 2-prong plug power brick (instead of the UK style 3-prong) with a hard wired USB-C connector. I would have preferred no power supply or a more useful multi-port USB-C supply (I am using my own).In short the Nova Mini makes a great home projector that should not be dismissed because it is marketed as a portable.

This was an impulse purchase during Prime day, but I was actually pleasantly surprised with how great it performed during our vacation. We took it with us for a week in a rented house in the woods that happened to have large slanted ceilings. The photo shows how crisp and clear the picture is with minimal manual adjustment (we tweaked the edges a bit just to suit our preference) from roughly ~20ft away in the living room (using the gimbal). Brightness is solid for this size/price point and set up was really easy with Google TV. It takes a bit to boot up initially but once it's up and connected to the internet, it's super responsive. The gimbal is an additional purchase but it's very sturdy and doesn't wobble like another cheaper gimbal I have. I already have a portable power bank I take with me for outdoors/car vacations so I do not miss an onboard battery. Onboard sound seemed pretty decent, but we mostly used a portable Bose bluetooth speaker with it and didn't have any issues with connectivity. I also love the remote and the fact that it lights up for easy use in the dark. I'm super happy with this projector and it will be coming with me to all my future Airbnb adventures!

Wow. I'm impressed by this little thing. I have an old projector for my main projector (BenQ W20000) and it is still pretty good. But when I fired this little guy up, I was shocked how bright and colorful it is. Color is spot on, brightness is very impressive and it's $400 cheaper then it's competition (the XGIMI MOGO 4 Laser imo). I bought the Xgimi and am returning it for sure after this comparison (I gave the Xgimi 2 stars comparing to this one).Everything works as described. Screen detection works well. Just make sure the projection overlaps the screen on all 4 sides, else I found it doesn't work properly...and object detection too...if you're projection is smaller than the screen, then there's no doubt an object in the way lol. If screen detection isn't working, it's no doubt that the projector is not level enough for this to work (ie. the keystone cannot correct that much...).Aside from that, which is not that important, it's a an amazing little thing. I was concerned that it wasn't battery powered but after seeing the quality, this is no longer a concern of mine. I bought the Anker Prime Powerbank 26,250 mAh which has 300 W max output which I can connect to this little guy and bam...portable (it's powered by USB-C input @ 100 W). MOST IMPORTANTLY, with this on battery, NO LUMENS ARE LOST!!!! THE larger powerbank you buy, the longer it will run! The Xgimi, loses quite a bit when not plugged into power.The 1200 lumens I would say are pretty damn close to what this thing outputs. A special note, for some reason the SAE (scene adapt engine) is not on by default...this is supposed to increase picture quality by smart adjusting contrast and such.One note. People say audio isn't too great. I found that with the Dolby Processing on, the audio actually didn't sound to good...it was rather low. I turned off Dolby Processing (default btw), and turned on Dynamic audio or something and Surround sound (not part of the Dolby settings) and the audio improved quite a bit and was pretty decent.Highly recommended. Buy this over the Xgimi ten ways to Sunday.Do yourself a favour and watch & read this before buying the Mogo 4. Muy buena calidad y fiabilidad. La pixelación prácticamente no se nota. Necesitaba un proyector de tiro corto para simulación y este cumple las expectativas. Tiene un modo juego que permite rápida respuesta, no tanto como si fuera una pantalla, pero el retraso extra apenas se percibe.
