Makes good coffee, and eco-friendly
I ordered this French press coffee maker mainly because I’d been thinking about upgrading to stainless steel for a while. I bought my first French press more than 40 years ago because buying one seemed to me like a no-brainer : Money saving (no filters to buy) and eco-friendly (no filters to dispose of). At that time in order to find one I had to drive to another town to a luxury/gourmet cooking store . There was only one brand or type available then, the Danish one .When the glass carafe broke I called that store and they ordered a replacement carafe. I think I replaced that carafe 4 times over the decades , at least once every ten years. The last time I replaced that carafe it cost as much to replace it as the whole thing had cost to begin with. I still considered it to be somewhat eco-friendly, that I could replace one part and not have to buy a new device. When I saw double walled stainless steel varieties were available , replacement seemed like another no-brainer : Once I bought one, there would be no more broken carafes to replace . No more having them shipped, no more broken glass than cannot be recycled.I made coffee with my beautiful new press this morning. It says it is an 8 cup coffee maker, but that of course depends on how big our cups are . My partner and I use 10 oz mugs, and fill them about 2/3 full . For us this is a 4 cup coffee maker. It’s perfect. The instructions , like most coffee makers, say to add one tablespoon of coffee per cup. I ground1/4 cup (three tablespoons) of coffee beans and poured not-quite-boiling water over them to what seemed like a good place to stop. I set the lid on top , waited 5 minutes to gently depress the plunger . (With my old one , depressing the plunger quickly made coffee spew out. I see no reason to try that now with this one ) .I’ve been accustomed to needing to pour the coffee into the cups through a small sieve as my old press didn’t catch all the grounds. I poured the coffee though the sieve, but this press left no grounds for my sieve to catch. That’s an improvement . The coffee was delicious , no complaints there.I was curious to see if the double walled carafe kept the coffee warm longer, but I would not say that it was particularly warm when I came back to it after an hour. It was slightly warm. Keeping it warm wasn’t really one of my issues though.I like the way that the lid and plunger assembly are constructed. The lid is all metal and about an inch thick , so it helps to keep the plunger perfectly straight. (I believe that the grounds screening failures of my old press were caused by plunger wobble ).The assembly on the bottom of the plunger can be unscrewed and removed for deep cleaning or replacement of the screen. The stainless steel screen seems very sturdy, but I suppose it might wear out someday? I think I can look forward to many years with this excellent coffee press .

Nice French Press
This is a very nice French Press. Build quality is solid, though some of the powder coat was nicked off when I received the package. It’s made of stainless steel - I personally prefer this over the glass, as it keeps the coffee hotter longer. With coffee grounds included. the press holds ~900 mL of water. The filter does a nice job removing and holding down the grinds. The handle is large and comfortable to hold. Wish the spout was a little more narrow; the wide spout qmakes the pour too fast and wide.

The way A French Press should be
I had a French press. It sat in my cupboard unused for literally a decade. Why? Well, I loved the coffee it could make. But hated that I couldn't enjoy the full press over say an hour of time (or 10 minutes) because it would get cold faster than I could drink it. So, there it sat until one day I took it to good will. Then one day, this shows up for a review on Vine. Double walled French press would seem to be one of the better use cases for double walled vessels, so I was intrigued. Upon opening the box, I found a well made, well finished French press painted in black. It has a chrome top (fingerprint/water spot magnet), a fine mesh screen plunger, and a lid that rotates around to keep the heat from escaping from the pot. Note it is not air tight like some vacuum pump bottles might be, but it does enough to keep the heat escaping and the lid itself is hollow so it does a good job of insulating. Not great, as the top of the lid will have some warmth to it, but better than a glass top.Pouring my first cup was great. Coffee was HOT. vs my old French press where I would let it steep for five minutes and it would already be cooler than I wanted. 30 minutes in, the coffee is slightly cooler, but still in the range a very hot cup of coffee. Unscientifically, I would guess my first pour to be about 195 degrees, and 30 minutes later we are at 185-190. At the hour mark, it's warm, but cooler than I like.So... it's not a bottle that will keep your hot liquids hot for hours on end, but it will keep your coffee hot for about 45 minutes, which for me is perfect. Most days I will drink it within 30 minutes, and maybe languish on the weekends for an hour, and this will get me most of the way there.Clean up is just like my last French press. Relatively simple, but always a bit of a pain to get the last coffee grounds out of the wire mesh.I strongly recommend this if you like French Press coffee.

Big enough for several cups of coffee!
I love the fact that is a sturdy French press. The metal it is made of makes it feel like it will last a ling time. The best part of the filter is the it is a fine filter, so no grinds make it past this filter! Plus the curved spring edge makes a tight seal around the edge of the brewing body so only coffee gets passed the filter when you're pressing down.It is very easy to clean! The filter screws off, so you can get into every nook and cranny to get those grinds out!

Makes the best coffee I've ever made at home
I will say from the start, this is my first French press. I recently converted from an old drip coffee maker and would never go back. The metal construction is nice, and it keeps the coffee hot for a good amount of time. The description says 8 cup, but they must mean 8 very small cups. I get a little over two cups in a rather standard size mug. Anyway, that's not a criticism at all. It holds about 34oz which is a nice size. All in all, five stars and I love making coffee in this press.
