EVO Sustainable Goods 10" Plate, Set of Four, Blue

This company clearly states that these plates are microwave safe. Well, this is what our "microwave safe" plate looks like now. We bought these back in February. I Emailed the company, told them what happened and asked for a replacement. The company did not respond.

I wanted lightweight, unbreakable plates that could be heated in the microwave for lunches, etc. However, the plate melted and bubbled in the microwave. It’s a fine plate, but is not microwaveable, which was the whole reason I bought them!

The stickers themselves came off readily enough, but the residue was ridiculous. Fortunately I had Goo Gone on hand which finally removed the residue with liberal application and the use of a BRUSH. This is utterly ridiculous. I just cleaned them today and have not used them yet. However, I am definitely going to tell my husband that they cannot be used in the microwave after seeing the pics in other reviews. I won't purchase them again, though they are a nice looking plate. They seem hollow, and I wanted to use them when I had steaks or something else that I needed to be able to do some careful cutting. I get the feeling that these could cut through the top layer, leaving juices seeping into the center of the plate which would provide a serious health threat from bacterial growth. I was jazzed about the idea of the source, but the execution is not satisfactory.

These plates look good, but after one use of cutting food with a butter knife, they’re already ruined. I am looking for every day plates that are not breakable, microwaveable and dishwasher safe. These are not it. Defibitely not worth spending $20+ for 4 plates that cut with a butter knife.

These plates do not hold up well. I’ve had them a year and a half now and I’m tossing them all in the trash. They do not clean well so look perpetually greasy and dirty. You cannot use a knife on them because they scratch very easily. I don’t think they’re sanitary anymore - so in the trash they go.

I have not experienced any of the problems that others have stated. There were no stickers on the plates or bowls or the snack tray and bowl set. Bought them for our RV. Have microwaved several times and also put in the dishwasher several times. No issues yet.Maybe people are microwaving them too long. I don’t know, but I have recommended them to others because they were recommended to me. They were a little pricey but worth it.

I loved these plates especially because they're sustainably made. Also loved the black color which meshed well with my rainbow cutlery. However beware of the microwave safe claim... I'm no fan of microwaves but somethings especially a last ditch freezer meal its the only option. I have used these and their bowls in the microwave plenty of times no problem. But yesterday I went to microwave bacon (only way to cook it imo for delish oil free bacon) which I have done with these multiple times before. I have at least a triple layered paper towel between the plate and the bacon, cooked 5 pieces just enough for them to get nice and crispy. When I took it out everything looked per usual until I went to toss the paper towels and noticed black on the bottom. The top coating on the plate had come off so now there were weird ridge/bubbles on only one random spot of the plate. Not only does it look unpleasing but if you wipe a paper towel over it a black substance rubs off and while washing black specs come off on my dish wand. Makes me wonder if this has slowly been happening and it's been absorbing into my foods.... definitely beware of microwaving with these but for standard purposes they are great for the price.

Apparently my order of white plates changed color to blue from when I placed my order to when they were shipped. I had been looking at the red, white and blue sets of plates and bowls. When the order showed up, I performed the routine tasks. Peeling the stickers from the face of the plate, then wrestling with removing the stickers from the underside. I'm ordered several different sets of plates and bowls now. For some reason they always have two upc stickers on the bottom covering each other.I logged in to Amazon to check my other orders and realized the blue plates I received were NOT the white ones I ordered. The plates and bowls are great. Highly recommended for daily use plates. Durable and wonderful for normal daily use with kids or just eating in front of the TV. The price seems high at first, but not having to worry about replacing a broken plate/bowl, general daily usefulness, and microwave/dishwasher safe, the plates are well worth the cost.

I thought these were stone and then they came and they weren't. I'm not disappointed or anything because I surely could have read the description but I was like, " oh snap, good price for beautiful stone plates". But eco friendly is good and they are great little light weight plates.
