Q: Does the french oak look like the picture?

The top looks a bit more greyish...which for my room, worked out great.

Q: Is this strong enough to hold a 20 gallon aquarium?

No way. The instructions limit the table top to (if I recall correctly) 35lbs, and the shelf underneath to 15lbs. Those numbers are at least close. A gallon of water weighs about 8.3lbs, which puts your 20-gallon aquarium at more than 160lbs -- and that's justt the water. I put a Canon Color imageCLASS MF743Cdw laser printer on mine; that printer weighs in at 63lbs, and the table is barely able to support it. If the table or the printer gets bumped hard enough, I'll be picking up my printer (and a bunch of table pieces) off the floor.

Q: Does this table arrive disassembled? If yes, is a manual included to guide someone during assembly?

The table comes disassembled and the instructions are provided. They're very easy to follow. I recommend Latin out all the pieces before putting them together.
