Gorilla Waterproof Patch & Seal Rubberized Sealant Paste, Black, 1lb Can (Pack of 1)

Application: The product is exactly what it claims to be—a thick, rubberized paste. It has the consistency of thick peanut butter, which is ideal for bridging small cracks, filling gaps, and coating larger areas where movement or weathering is an issue. I applied it using a stiff disposable brush and a putty knife, spreading it evenly across the problematic area. Be warned: it's messy, so wear gloves and keep mineral spirits nearby for cleanup. Since I chose the white color, it blended decently with the trim, though it definitely dries with a noticeably rubberized, textured finish, not a smooth, paint-grade look.

I personally have not tried it for any medium to high pressure piping. I have used for old cast iron drain piping,,and outdoor concrete patio Just make sure area is super clean,,use some grit cloth and soap and water,, Let it sit for and hour then apply second coat. I have used it to seal some seams outdoor concrete patio storm door. I wouldn’t try the boat,,but I have a lot of faith in low pressure applications . The price is comparable with others and was packaged and shipped as described.

I bought this product October 17th and opened it December 28th for the first time only to find the putty dried out and unusable. I couldn’t use any of it so I can’t give a review on its functionality. However I can tell you I wasted money on this bc the “return window is closed.” Maybe I got a bad batch, nonetheless, buyers beware.

Not to easy to apply, when I opened it appeared to be hard and dry as if the can had already been open or was old. It was very sticky and would curl when I tried to apply and had dry hard clumps My can definitely wouldn't spread easy. This morning it appears dry and rubber like texture so I'll see how it holds up. Time was an issue so I made it work.

I used this for resealing my skylights, Note: I have 2 large skylights and needed 3 cans. No leaks after a year.

Update 7 Oct 2024: I visited the gorilla tough website and discovered that their email and chat interfaces DO NOT WORK. I made time to call their 800 number and finally reached a rep. The Gorilla Tough rep asked for the number on the bottom of the can, so make sure you can read at least the first 5 digits. Therein, the rep provided me with a very generous credit, wherein, I had my choice of Home Depot, Walmart, or Amazon. He said they would also send an envelope, so I could ship it back to them for examination. The paste is a failure, but when you finally reach a rep, the company makes up for it! I trusted Gorilla Glue products up until now. When I first opened the container, I noticed the product was very stiff. Not knowing the consistency to expect - and trusting the brand from other Gorilla Glue products I've used in the past, I still maintained trust in this "Gorilla Paste" for some reason. Over the course of a month, it became more difficult to use. About 6 weeks later, it was nothing but a hard lump of rubber as you see in the pic. I did manage to use it in a few places wherein it definitely sealed some cracks, but I didn't get my money's worth.

Great product. Recommend applying by hand with gloves to mold and smooth it out easier. Make sure you hammer the top closed immediately after use if you want to use it for more than one project. This reduces the risk of it drying out.

I’ve used the Flexseal similar product and liked it but it did not last in the container. I decided to give this a try as it cost less and stores in a metal container and not a plastic one. The products works just as well as Flexseal. In the case of both products you have to smooth it out just right and leave it alone. Great alternative to bondo if you are repairing wood that has a tendency to rot. Use gloves as it is oil based and is a pain to get off your hands!
