I've been without a dvd player for months, finally got around to looking for a solution as I didn't have a scart socket in my smart TV, this is exactly what I needed. The tips in other people's reviews helped when looking for the correct setting/source/switch on the actual scart lead to get it working...happy customer

Great little kid to connect a old DVD player to new 4K tv. Easy installation and comes with a long enough wire to reach the tv I put on the wall.Only down side is it will not give you hdmi quality sound but still works well. That is the limitation to the technology not this product.

Plug and play on LG tv, once I found the correct input channel that is. On a LG tv this connects through the AV channel not "component". Make sure the direction switch is in the correct orientation. Would only play back from the tape function and not the DVD on our old combined player, this was not a issue for me as I don't use this DVD player, but it's something to be aware of if you do need to use the DVD.

Allowed us to connect an old dvd player to a new smart tv. Good price. The colours don't match from the plugs to the tv connection but husband's an electrician and seems to know what hes doing! Not saying you need an electrician to connect it, just no real instructions with it. If you have a 5 pin connector on the tv make sure you choose the right source on the tv or the picture will be in black and white.

Bought to connect an old Humax PVR to a new Panasonic smart TV. The Humax only had scart connectors whereas the TV has HDMI & phono connectors. Although the new cable scart connector fits the Humax OK & the new cable phono connectors fit the TV, we only have a black & white picture when trying to play something through the Humax. I've checked that the Humax is set to RGB output which it is. Maybe have to buy a new PVR. No fault with the cable though which appears to be of good quality.

This is just what I wanted for playing videos on my old video player/recorder. The cable works well with the tv and I am so pleased I am able to view my old videos. The cable arrived sooner than expected, so I was very pleased about that.

Recently purchased our first Smart TV, having to keep open the option of occasionally using the VCR, this was the only way of connecting it to the new TV. The one I received, had a black plug, instead of the pictured white one. Also, there were no colour coded ID tabs attached, again, as pictured. Decided to focus on the two cables whose plugs were colour consistent (Red/Yellow). Luckily, upon testing, the correct connection was made.

Connected Smart TV to DVD player with no problem . Just connected the black plug into the white socket and it was straight forward . I would say it's a better,simpler way than connecting by a HDMI adapter.
