Possible Dust Jacket Gloss Issue
This is a review of the book as a product, not a review of the books contents!Nearly everything about the books condition was perfect and was accurately displayed. Unfortunately, the only issue I found was that the dust jacket of the book had an issue with the usual glossing placement, as it was off-centered in all areas. It gives me a feel of the book having a sort of "error-printing" rarity or a one of a kind print, but it was a bit of a disappointment for me. Without ordering more copies of the book, I'm not sure if this is a typical thing from the seller (I also bought the book as brand new). Otherwise, shipping was great and the book arrived in alperfect conditions. :)

Not just for young children!
The language, themes and emotions of the Warriors series are universal, and labeling these as books for 7-12 year olds does the series an unfortunate disservice. They can be enjoyed by teens and adults every bit as much, if they love cats and good fantasy; I suggest these books as excellent family experiences. I find this prequel subset of the Warriors series, Dawn of the Clans,to be particularly emotional, and this second installment is no exception. It's impossible not to feel for the characters, to love and fear for them, and to eagerly anticipate what will happen next. Gray Wing is a wonderful figure and here we see him and his brother Clear Sky begin to have different ideas about how a society should be run, and young cat Thunder is caught between them, confused by family conflict and the inner storms of growing up. I didn't even wait for this to come out in paperback - and I'm sure the same will be true for the next book in the series which will follow it, slated for the autumn of 2014.

Purchased for our library
My son loved this book, in fact so much he wrecked the library's copy so we purchased this one to replace it. It's a hardcover, whereas the book he ruined was the paperback version, so they were quite happy with the exchange. My son is 9 and reads at the 5-6th grade level, this book series is one of his favorites. Looking forward to more titles from Erin Hunter.

Sad but good
First, just let me introduce myself. My name is Windbreeze and I was born to Gorseflight and Ravenwhisker of Windclan. Let me just say, what I heard the story of how Clear Sky killed Misty and Bumble, it made me want to claw him in the face, but I wouldn't do that. I couldn't go to sleep. I do like how Gray Wing accepts Turtle Tails kits as his own. I like how Thunder finally came to his scenses and went back to Gray Wing. It doesn't matter that Clear Sky is his father, Gray Wing was a better father than he could have ever been. I love how you can see how the Clans were formed. I would recommend this book to anyone really. Well, Acorntail is calling me, time to go on patrol! Thunderclan better not be crossing our borders again. We taught them a lesson last time. Bye

Hooked
Another good one but the tragedies in this story makes me afraid to continue. I love cats and to see any of the good ones dies is heart wrenching. I'll keep reading because I need to know what happens. Very well written. Sometimes I wished the cats made better personal or group decisions. I feel Graywing spent to much time worry he wasn't good enough but still a good story.

Excellent book and series!
Came in excellent condition. Got here one day early. Ordered Thursday morning and got here at Saturday at noon. Was a great buy for the price. Would recommend to all people who love cats and adventure. Recommendation: Read as your first Warriors book series. After, you should start The Prophecies Begin. Really helps you to get to know how the clans came to be. -Excellent buy! Thanks for viewing.

Love it
I liked but it made me sad when I saw how many books I already read and how firestar dies in the last book of the series omen of the stars. But however it was amazing it shows how the clans developed and adapted. For an example they don't know about cobwebs yet, that's why bubble died. But I'm sure they'll catch on. They divided themselves into two groups but they haven't named themselves. Thunder shows bravery by refusing to abandon frost. So after that Frost and Thunder leave to go to Graywing's group. The thing that I think is brave about this is that Clearsky Thunder's father sometimes can be cruel. He wants thunder to drive Frost out to die.it was a great book.I hope you will get this book it is sooooooooo adventures.I know you will enjoy this book

Great Series
My daughter who is 11 is HOOKED on this series. I cannot believe how fast she is a making it through all these books. I can't complain about spending the money especially when she is reading!! Thank You so much for writing a series to get kids interested in reading!! She will stay up way past her bedtime reading. It's hard to argue with her when she says just one more chapter.....

worth waiting for
and so we start to meet the leaders of the first clans! thunder is already showing the values that we come to expect from thunderclan, and we are introduced to wind, river and of course we already met sky in the first of these books. whew, thunder was right to be suspicious of clear sky, was glad when he finally realised which was the life for him, poor loyal grey wing, so frustrating to see his loyalty to his brother thrown back in his face, but it is interesting to see the characters start to show themselves, just can't make up my mind as to what jagged peak is up to. we have yet to meet shadowclans first leader or indeed have we? we will have to wait and see! the bonus chapters at the end telling us about river's arrival in the forest/on the moor was a true bonus and very readable. can't believe we have to wait until next april for the next book. by the way after clear sky's behaviour in this book am not surprised they were " thrown out" of the forest (even though i did feel sorry for them), poor misguided clear sky, is it worth being so ambitious, we shall see .........

Love it!
The prequel keeps getting better and better! I love the little moments where you understand a reference from the main story, it just adds to the overall enjoyment of the book :)

Thunder Rising
Let me guess. Thunder becomes leader of Thunderclan, River Ripple leads Riverclan, Wind Runner leads Windclan, Tall Shadow leads Shadowclan, and Clear Sky will lead Skyclan. It's all in the names!

Not as great as the original series
Not as great as the original series, but they haven't done a bad job on the new one. Good read. Would recommend if you loved the first series.
