Camera power and video connections explained
In an attempt to simplify the camera installation procedure first let me advise the proper way to connect the camera to a power source in the rear of the vehicle, and that is to the "backup light power source"There are two ways to connect the "video feed' to your display monitor, first is to use the wireless modules that come with the camera, the second is to use the hardwire connection that comes with the camera (the 30' wire with yellow video connectors)The preferred connection is the wireless, there are two wireless modules, one is labeled "transmitter" and the other "receiver"the transmitter module connects to the camera, and the receiver module connects to the monitor. If you decide to use the long video cable instead of the wireless modules you must connect the power wires "red and black" to the camera powersupply harness (wire them together" so that when the camera receives power from the backup lights it will also send power through the video cable to the monitor. (the preferred method is to use the wireless modules, it avoids running the cable through the interior side panels)When connecting the wireless modules remember to connect the transmitter module in the rear with the red and yellow connectors directly to the cameras red and yellow connectors.then run the red and black power wires from the wireless module to your vehicles backup light power source, you will need a positive power source from the backup light for the red wire and a ground location for the black wire.(test between the power source and ground location with a test light probe to ensure your connections are good)ensure the module power indicator lights up blue when backup lights are on.(try to mount the wireless module behind the trim panel next to the camera if possible) the wireless signal will travel through the interior of the car with no problem. When the camera has been mounted succesfully and the power wires from the backup lights have been connected to both camera and wireless module and you have a blue indicator light when the backup lights are on, if so you are finished, move to the front of the vehicle for the wireless receiver and monitor installation.Mount the wireless receiver module under the dash preferrably behind the kick panel below the steering wheel (zip tie it to the metal frame for example) mount the monitor to a location that will not obstruct the drivers view and look for a power source,I used the lighter receptacle power source, you need to connect power to "both" the wireless receiver module and the monitor, the video cable from the wireless module "does not" supply power to the monitor.the wiring on the module and the power harness for the monitor should have sufficient length to connect to your 12 volt dc power source.remember to connect the yellow video connector from the receiver module to the yellow end on the monitor. This should complete your installation and the camera should display an image on the monitor when the vehicles backup lights are activated.

Easy to install, works great and a wonderful experience
The media could not be loaded. I have to be honest. I was looking for a cheap backup camera for for one of my 6 vehicles and this just happened to pop up on a warehouse deal. Ugh, like so many warehouse deals, you can expect more than just the packing damaged. Everything came except for the power cord. Here we go again. I should really learn my lesson after the up tenth time.I reluctantly contacted the seller hoping to be able to purchase the power cord because I really liked the system and wanted to make it work.To my surprise, the seller kept great communication with me over the course of a few emails. Really quick to respond and really friendly.Full credit to the customer service here, they sent me exactly what I needed for free eventhough I was upfront about buying this system from Amazon's warehouse deals. The part arrived quickly, the system is well worth a lot more than what I paid for it and I am very pleased. This is a very sound backup system. For the price, you can't beat it and the AMAZING customer service was icing on the cake.Since then, I have purchased 2 more backup camera systems straight from the seller. I have not been disappointed.Really good system, works just as described, and wonderful customer service experience.Do yourself a favor and get this or any other backup camera kit they offer.

sometimes it works and i get signal other times nothing.
put this on a crew cab pickup with 8 foot bed and most of the time I get no signal but occasionally it will work maybe one out of ten times but really a lot of static and not clear at all. may work for small cars but not anything very long. they have contacted me twice wanting me to take down the negative review. offered me a 20 dollar gift certificate. I told them I just wanted one that worked, was told they don't have any that work at the moment and that they are waiting for a new shipment. however I see they are still trying to sell the other ones on here.DO NOT BUY!!! They are ripping people off sending out bad units that don't work, then send out 20 dollar amazon cards and they are still ahead 30 bucks for nothing. Amazon needs to do something about this and not allow them to sell here.

It's well worth the money
The quality of the entire product is really good. The hardest part of the install was running the wire from the license plate into the interior of the rear lift hatch. The instructional video never addresses that but you'll need to figure it out. I ended up undoing the rubber grommet holding the wire for the license plate lights and ran the camera wire through it as well. I put some folded up tape between the camera wire and the bare metal edge of the hole to prevent wear. I then soldered on the two transmitter wires onto a section of bare wire I cleared off of the reverse lights. Those sidesaddle clamps for hookups which are included are not long term and tend to short out after time. I placed the transmitter as high up in the lift gate as possible and taped up the excess wires to prevent rattles. In the front, the camera does NOT come w/ a windshield mount, only a sticky base. I tapped into a hot wire from our video system in the front left kick panel and was able to hide the wires for a very clean look. Finding a hot wire source in these newer vehicles can be an issue. I really like the system and the price is excellent. The receiver picks up the single after a split second delay every time. Aside from no windshield mount, I have no issues with this product.ADDED: Shadows will make the image flicker but not so that it is unclear. The display will come on w/ no image when you are in the area of another car transmitting on the same frequency. Still really like this set up - great product, great price.
