Secrets of Churchill's War Rooms

Three times I've visited the Churchill War Rooms museum. Recently saw this book in the souvenir shop for 30 BP, plus VAT - roughly $50 USD. Was interested, but thought the price was too steep. So, I found this on Amazon - used in excellent condition, which it proved to be - for less than one third the price at the War Rooms shop. As one commenter remarked, the print font is quite small, so if you have old eyes, you will need your magnifiers. The pictures and narrative reveal details (secrets, as the book is entitled) you won't get from the self paced audio tour in the Imperial War Rooms museum itself. For that purpose, it is most informative.

Description of how Churchill lived during war.The print was too small. Most people interested in this book are older need large print.

This book shows the below ground HQ of Churchill and the people who ran the Second World War. It is well illustrated. In addition it gives the background to the various phases of the war and the people involved at all levels.

A very well illustrated book,gives a good insight to what it must have been like during the war,a good buy,one drawback but this is the second book through Amazon which has arrived with bumped edges becauseof poor handling somewhere down the line, better packaging would be better.

This is an absorbing book. I found it very interesting and I think others will too.
