I live in a humid apartment year round. This takes care of any moldy or musty smellsin my closets or bathroom. I change them about once a month in the summertime.You will need to buy duct tape and duct tape the whole perimeter of the bag toassure that it won't leak < very simple but important. Also duct tape the plasticholder at the top to the bag so that doesn't become unsnapped. It can very easily.FYI --- BUT they work great.

DampRid products I find always absorb moisture from the area you use it in. I needed to feel the moisture in my closets needed to be absorbed but also have a freshener smell. I bought this set as it has a lavender vanilla sent and does work well. You can see when you need to replace and all you have to do it get rid of the pouch once the crystals dissolve and water reaches the max line. Can't wait to purchase again as I get down to my minimum limit of packets so I can resupply.

I've ordered these repeatedly, for years now.They do an excellent job of collecting moisture and keeping it away from clothes and other stored items in my closets. One of the areas where I use them is in a closet that has my washer and dryer in it, so there is more moisture present than in the average clothes or linen closet. Before I started using these in that closet I often noticed a slightly damp, musty smell that would spread to other items stored on the shelves in there. After hanging one of these on a magnetic hook on the side of the washer, I noticed that the dampness and musty odor cleared away within a few days. Now I keep one hanging there all the time and haven't had that problem since.These really are fragrance-free - I've never noticed any odor at all in any of them that I've purchased. I very much prefer these over the citrus, lavender, or "fresh scent" ones, which all smell strongly and leave that scent on my clothing and bedding.I've never had any of these leak, but I worry about that a bit so I keep them hanging in locations where they're not in direct contact with fabrics or likely to drip on anything if they do leak, as I've read in others' reviews that it can leave an oily mess if they do.It's somewhat dependent upon the weather and the season, but usually it takes a couple months for the lower portion of one of these bags to fill up with liquid and all the crystals to be used up from the upper portion. It's always impressive to see all the liquid that accumulates and feel how heavy it is once it fills up. That's a lot of water that they keep from getting into my stuff.

it is 6 individual items in a well wrapped carton. Looks alright, but I haven't opened them yet.I will follow up, if there is a problem.Just found that price a little high.Seems that anything that is unscented is way expensive, scented is reasonable, but I don't like it.Oh, Wellie, Life is Smelly?On the up side, it came right away, and was in good shape

Best product. Living in New England, keep a hanger in every closet & rooms that tend to get humidity. Smell is like baby-powder scented deodorant (the fresh scent & other scents are too strong & unpleasant to me - like scented garbage bags).These things really work, aren't unsightly & once they fill w/ fluid & the crystals are gone, it's just toss & move on - no messy pouring & rinsing.Note, these are best for interior home rooms -- if need for a basement, strongly recommend the reusable unscented pails instead -- they hold more volume & in damp areas the hangers would not be lg enough or cost-effective. The Damp Rid even comes in 5 lb pails, if there's an extremely humid space, or using for a boat.This product truly snags excess moisture & reduces odors, too. Tried other brands - they're not as effective, nor do they smell as great as Damp Rid. And, the initial baby powder smell dissipates after few days, so if don't care for it, just wait.I have to order this at the local hardware store as they don't stock the unscented hangers. This purchase saved me a trip. Depending on level of humidity, in my region of the US, these last 2-3+ months in cool months, and 1-3 months Spring & Summer.

I have used Damp Rid for over 20 years. It is absolutely essential if you are near the beach or anywhere that gets humid. This keeps all my closets from developing that musty smell but more importantly I never get mold on any of my clothes or closet items as long as I keep these in the closets. I will caution you that I do not use the "tub" ones any longer because if they accidentally spill the mess is awful to clean up. Kind of oily like bleach would be spilled all over your clothes and or floor of closet. The ones that hang in your closet are absolutely fantastic. If you don't care for the smell (I like the lavender/vanilla) then get the unscented...they work just as well. I highly recommend Damp Rid and I make sure I have multiple extras stored at all times. I have these on auto-delivery.

I use these a lot during the summer to reduced moisture in my home. They are very efficient and work well.
