Zircon StudSensor A100 Wall Scanner and Center/Edge Locating Stud Finder with WireWarning Detection

Bought this before moving into a new home preparing for all the mysteries that lay behind the walls.At $30.99 I think the Zircon is hard to beat. Sure, there are more accurate stud finders out there, but several are nearly double the money. The ability to detect studs accurately as well as included wiring warning is solid value.I put these features to the test and overall have been impressed. The stud detecting was accurate on normal framed walls with drywall. Unfortunately, I did not have a chance to test on any other surfaces which could be more challenging. The wiring warning does exactly that and warns you however it lacks true accuracy of exactly where the wiring is.For the average person I think this stud finder is hard to beat. If this is something you plan to use on a daily basis for work or you are dealing with horsehair plaster walls, I'd consider spending more and getting a higher end model, but the reality of this purchase is I will probably break this out every few months and for that it does everything I need.

This one is a great improvement over my older model - It is accurate -indicating not only the edges of the studs, but also the centre, with a highly readable panel. In addition it indicates if there are live wires in the wall. It is simple and easy to use - just hold down the side button and glide it across the wall. It's well shaped and sits neatly in the hand.

Works pretty well. If I need to replace it at some point I would try a different brand. Finds studs okay, a lot of false readings, annoying when working where stud spacing is inconsistent. Electrical detection is very good

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I picked this one because it reviewed on project farm and it has been fantastic. I have put up some cabinets and hung up a TV and a backer board and about 10 hooks on the wall now. I have not missed a single stud, and I have been really putting it to use. I found it works better on deep scan mode.

Love having this, worth buying it!

The product is simple and has only one job find the studs. It does the job well.There are 3 cons with it. I give it 3 stars. Truly deserves 2 stars but one extra star for the price.1. You have to view the display at 90degree any slight angle in your vision you cant see the display.2. It is bulky and you cannot use it near window/door trims.3. You have to slide it across the wall without lifting it even a single bit. Any hiccup and it doesn't work.

It works like it should

took it to in-laws build, ran it across ~50 studs (0.5"-0.75" deep) -- it couldn't find a single one (tried regular and "deep scan").order a new unit.exact same problem.order a third unit.exact same problem.It's honestly impressive how worthless this stud finder is. Incredibly suspicious how none of the three units received arrived in any kind of manufacturers box. all units were tossed loosely in a brown amazon box; two arrived with no instruction manual.amazon is offloading defective units for these guys.
