This board is a replacement for my 10’ Naish that I had for 13 years that literally blew up. I loved that board and they don’t make it any more. (Keep boards at low deflation in high heat!). I spent a lot of time considering which new one to buy, and I’m very happy with this purchase. It is a really nice board! It has one center fin that is really easy to put on. With just the one fin, it doesn’t track as well as the 3 fin, longer boards. This one is probably really good to use on waves, which I haven’t done. I did use it in some pretty good wind and choppy water, and it did fine. It’s just not fast, but that shorter length makes it really zippy to use, easy to pump up, easy to carry. Speaking of carrying….Holy Cow! It is unbelievably light! The pumping goes fast with the three mode pump; I don’t feel like I need an electric pump. I’m not impressed with the paddle; it comes in three sections, and the section with the closure isn’t tight enough, it slips around, even with tightening the screw. I’m also not thrilled with the pack bag. The wheels make it simple to haul it around, but it takes up too much space, and is tippy. A lot of people seem to love it, so that’s just my preference. I think the 10’ 6’ board would be better for tracking and speed, but I wanted the smaller one for portability and for frequent travels to Oregon lakes and rivers. With the 9’6’, no water permit is needed. Aesthetically, it is sooo sweet, it’s really beautiful to look at that design work while paddling. Sadly, my dog just passed away and she never got to ride this one; the Naish was her board.
