You can't say enough about this Winter coat. It's got more pockets, then you can find without a map. That's a good thing. The zipper is of high quality. The cuff locks, keep out the snow. It's very warm. A bit too warm when it's not cold lol. I've gone out in single digit weather, with just a T shirt on under it. Perfectly fine. You may want to spray it with Teflon. It's reasonably water resistant, but it does eventually get through. It's a SNUG, but comfy fit. So, keep that in mind. If you want a coat that's a bit looser on you, order the next size up is my recommendation. I really can't express how good this coat is. I've had them all. Carharts. North Slope. None of them beat this coat. It's that good.

This coat, parka, jacket.... whatever you want to call it is fantastic. For this review, I will be calling it a coat.For the upcoming winter season I needed a new coat. My last one did great until it fell apart from over usage in many Midwestern winters. My the stupid thing rest in pieces.So, Rather than going on to wal-mart or (insert name of store here), and deal with people, lines, my habit of compulsive buying (one day i went out for soda, came back with a laptop and a new dog. Forgot the soda. True story.) I figured i would purchase online from Amazon.After hunting around the website for a good bit, i found this, and purchased it. (as well as a dog collar and some DVD-R's that I probably really didn't need).When i got it, i was impressed.Oh my the pockets! So many! Not to mention it looks great... seriously. People at work won't shut there pie holes on how great the coat looks.It's very warm. Seriously. For as thin as it is, It has kept me warm so far this fall season in tropical Michigan.Word of caution to potential buyers of this coat: People may think you work for Caterpillar. Had a gentleman approach me and tell me that he use to service caterpillar equipment and shook my hand. I thought at first he was just reminiscing about his days of working for the company. Then he asked me if "Dave" still worked there. I said, "wait, who?" That's when it dawned on this gentleman that i was in fact just an imposter, poser if you will. He walked away confused and i think he muttered something under his breath about how i wasted 12 seconds of his life or something. Poor guy.At any rate, don't waste any more of your time with my review. Buy this! He just sniffs me and farts.Right, back with the coat review: It still looks new, as if I just bought it yesterday. It has not disapointed me. Unlike my laptop, that died a horible tragic death after if fell off my balcony and bounced on the concrete below bounced like 3 times and then landed in the yard, right on top of a rare pile of my dogs magical bio waste. The one time the thing decided to use the outside as it's bathroom destination, my laptop finds it. Fantastic.Summary: Laptop dead, Dog is confused on where it should go. Coat, awesome. Still like new, still awesome. I named it Gary. Gary the awesome coat. Don't judge. You probably had an imaginary friend when you were younger. Well my imaginary friend is my coat, Gary.If you are still on the fence about buying this, i have a few words for you. First, get off the fence. That is just awkward. Unless you need to be on it for the free wifi signal you are getting from your neighbor or something. This coat has paid for itself over the many years i have owned it. My coat is sleeping comfortably in the closet waiting for winter to spring upon us once again. While it still has some time to slumber before it is awaken, I am comforted to know that it still is in fact the best coat that has ever been created by mankind. That's right, i went there. I have not had to buy a new one for five years now. Half a decade. I'm pretty sure I can call the coat a good purchase now.Dog is good. Farts a lot. He has faults but i love him.Coat? No. It doesn't fart. It's not alive. Still in perfect condition after five years. So, after half a decade of reviewing the coat, if you still are not unsure, then i would just recommend moving to Arizona. I don't think you have to deal with coats then. This will be my last update of this coat. I am now retiring from this review. I wish you the warmest of winters and a happy and healthy life my fellow amazon shopper!

This coat is AWESOME! It arrived a couple days before a big snow storm came through. The coat got to be tested out initially under blizzard conditions and it worked like a charm. My upper body was warm and toasty the entire time I was out in the snow, the wind was blowing real hard and other than noticing the snow moving you couldnt tell in the coat that the wind was whipping. I stayed nice and warm the entire time (no strange drafts of cold in odd places) and was truly able to not be the slightest bit cold. I was able to stay outside with my dogs having a blast in the snow (they were new to snow and had fun playing in it ) and normally I avoid going into snow like the plague due to coats that just don't do a good job of keeping someone my size warm. (I am a bigger person, 6' 5", built like linebacker) This year I was able to wear the coat and really didnt even need to turn on the heater in the car other than to defrost the windows when driving and when I was outside in the weather was nice and toasty warm.The fit:I ordered the coat one size larger than I expected as I am a large person (think football linebacker) so I have wide shoulders and barrel shaped chest. I was expecting it to be a bit larger in the fit after reading all the reviews that stated to get a size smaller because the coat is larger than expected, (those people must be your typical bean pole build, which I am not) but ordering the extra size to get the space got me a coat that is a perfect fit. Its not baggy or hangs odd, but it does fit very comfortable without hanging loose, and is alot more comfortable than the same size coats that you could buy from a "brand name" store or wally world where the coats seem to be just smaller in general and poorly constructed.The coat itself is very durable and made of a high grade material, some form of what looks like ripstop nylon of serious thickness with insulated interior, its warm enough to wear in blizzard conditions and you will stay plenty warm. The sleeves have a bit of a surprise in them as they have both a snap cuff sleeve from the rip stop material as well as a built in soft sleeve with a fitted cuff that is attached just in front of the elbow so its like two sleeves in one and it made a HUGE affect on the wind not entering into the sleeves. Normal snap cuff only, like my previous leather coat would allow the cold to "creep" up your arms into the warm inside but not this one! Normal coats on someone my size tend to bind in the shoulders when I raise my arms above shoulder level, but this one the fit is ideal and you have full range of motion. You can CLEARLY tell that this coat is meant to be a "working persons" coat for someone who is in a profession that is exposed to working in rough weather and is built very rugged to compensate for that (what do you expect from Caterpillar? they're stuff is always meant for the working person)All in all if you are a "large / thick / barrel chest" person order one size bigger than you want and it will fit you perfect. (XXL should order a XXXL if you are bigger for an ideal fit through the shoulders), if you are a normal size person who is a tall person you may find it a big baggie on you if you order larger.I would DEFINITELY recommend this coat is you are looking for a serious rugged coat to handle the weather in.

Well made but the name is deceptive. It implies a winter jacket, but this is only good to -15C Love the look of it and the numerous pockets. Seller won't ship to rural PO Boxes or post offices, so we had to travel over an hour, to a relative's place in the city to pick it up.
