There has been a lot of talk about the plastic bushings in the rollers. I attached this to and ARB winch bumper on a 1993 Jeep Cherokee XJ. The winch has a single line pull capacity of 9,200 lbs. We use the XJ for fishing and general off roading and exploration. So far, the only pull straight ahead with the winch was when it was installed. Our first pull on the trail was immediately to the left of the vehicle, and with the XJ stuck in a channel, the left and upper roller had a lot of pressure on them. Enough pressure for the winch cable to scratch up the roller, but the roller nor its bushings failed in any way. The channel prevented the Jeep from being pulled toward the tree the winch was attached to until the cable was nearly 90 degrees to the vehicle and only then did the Jeep pop out of the channel and turn toward the anchor point. We have used the winch many times and the cable is always off to the left or right. To date there is no damage to the rollers. I have not pulled by deadmanning to an anchor point and winching a 10,000 lb vehicle or heavier nor do we do heavy rock crawling. All in all, we are very happy with this fairlead and if it fails under extreme conditions, I would replace it with another one.

What I needed
I needed a new roller fair lead and found this one. It is true to the 10 inch bolt pattern and bolted right up to the ICI hidden winch mount for my F150. The price was reasonable also. It appears to be well made and solidly built.....it does the job.

The quality looks decent and the fit was perfect. I was replacing a Harbor Freight fairlead that was damaged after sucking the cable in too far.One year review: After a year of use I have only had to winch five or six times. The rollers are a bit soft and show quite a lot wear and burrs from the cable. I have had to pull the pins after each use as the rollers get stuck and don't turn by hand. I have not tried any lube because that usually turns into glue. Cleaning out the dirt has done the trick so far, but the plastic sleeves are not wearing well. The pins have held up well so far, not bent like the Harbor Freight one did. For the little use mine gets I would say it is worth the price. If you use your winch frequently I would recommend a higher quality alternative.
