Good stuff
This Adams Plus Flea & Tick Shampoo is fantastic! I used it on my cat during a recent flea scare, and it worked incredibly well. The shampoo lathers nicely, has a pleasant fresh scent, and rinses clean without leaving any residue. It killed adult fleas, ticks, and lice on contact, and the added Precor (insect growth regulator) helps prevent reinfestation by stopping flea eggs and larvae from developing โ a huge plus that most basic shampoos donโt offer. My petsโ coats looked shinier and felt softer afterward, and neither showed any signs of skin irritation. The sensitive skin formula really delivered. A little goes a long way, when you use correctly, the 12 oz bottle lasts through multiple baths. my cat tolerated the bath much better than expected, and the fresh scent is light and non-overpowering. If youโre dealing with fleas, ticks, or just want a reliable grooming shampoo with extra protection, this is the one to get. Excellent product that actually does what it promises. Highly recommend!

A LOT OF FLEAS ON YOUR PET, MEANS YOU HAVE TO CLEAN YOUR HOUSE TOO!
This product works very well and leaves your animal smelling fresh and clean for a couple of weeks. I've read several reviews and it seems people don't get that when your dog or cat have fleas, it's a multi treatment process: not a 1-wash and you're done. Additionally, you need to get rid of your animals bedding, get new bedding. You need to make sure your house is not infested in the areas where they frequent the most. If you don't do the above, every time you shampoo your pet, they will go back to those areas where they were laying before you washed them and they will get reinfested. When my cat had fleas years ago, that's when I got introduced to this shampoo. I actually washed my cat in the dawn dishwashing liquid first and I leave my cat in that dishwashing liquid submerged in the water darn near up to her eyeballs for at least fifteen minutes. I'm constantly combing her while she's submerged in the soapy water to get the fleas, tics, and eggs off of her. They will typically sink to the bottom of the water because the soap is so heavy on their bodies it weighs them down and they sink to the bottom. They can't swim up and jump out of it because of the weight of the soap. I then will rinse her a lot, refill renter the sink with Adams soapy shampoo darn near up to her neck again, after that Dawn bath, for about another15 minutes. Please be sure you are doing frequent combing out of their fur while they are submerged in the water to get the fleas, tics and eggs off. I'm doing this back to back. Then, because My cat had a section of the basement infested with the fleas, I literally set up a desk lamp that had a wide base (to place a weight on it so it wouldn't tip over), with a bendable neck and had it facing the floor. I would then place a wide short bowl of water with really soapy dishwashing liquid in it, under the light, and leave it there overnight. I'd do this every single day, all day and night, until the fleas wouldn't jump in the water anymore. Id also wear a pair of white sports socks up to my knees every single time you go in the area where the dog or cat may have invested. If you no longer see them jumping on your socks after you clean everything up you're good. Here were the steps I took to get rid of a flea infestation in my basement and on my cat. NOTE: i found out someone that I let stay in my house for a week visited someone's house, while they were visiting me, whose cat/ house was flea infested. ๐คฌ 1. Literally gave my cat a double 30 minute bath. 15 minute soak in dawn blue dishwashing liquid while constantly coming with a fleet comb while your pet is still in the water. This will help to remove/loosen the fleas, tics, and eggs into the soapy water where they will pretty much sink to the bottom of the tub. 2. after bathing your pet do not put them back in the same place where the investigation was. You will need to place your cat in a infestation is eradicated. 3. Throw away your cat's stuff and buy all new stuff. 4. Buy the flea and tick pills that are hard. Grind them up and put them in your cat's food. When the ticks and fleas bite your pet, ingest their blood, and they die. This really helped to clear my cat's body of fleas as well. 5. Buy the food grade diotamatious earth and one of those little tiny accordion looking things that you put the powder in. As you squeeze it in the areas where the fleas were, the powder blows out nicely dispersed. It blows the powdery substance out far and wide in the area. 6. Every time you vacuum, make sure you suck in some diotamacious earth inside of your vacuum FIRST. Then vacuum everywhere like crazy a lot! Diotamatious Earth will kill them on the spot. It sticks into their bodies like shards of glass. Vacuum daily with this process until your issues have resolved and fleas gone. 7. PLEASE DO THE DESK-LAMP-SOAPY-BOWL AND LIGHT PROCESS ON THE FLOOR DAILY UNTIL YOU DO NOT SEE THEM JUMPING INTO THE BOWL ANYMORE. YOU WILL DUMP THIS WATER DAILY AND REDO YOU NO LONGER SEE PLEASE AND THE BOWL THE NEXT DAY. 8. IF YOU HAVE ANY SORT OF INFESTATION, EVEN A SMALL AMOUNT, WEAR TALL WHITE SPORTS SOCKS EVERY TIME YOU ENTER THE AREA THAT YOU'RE PET FREQUENTS REGULARLY. FLEAS WILL JUMP ON YOUR CLOTHES, AND YOU WILL TAKE THEM EVERY OTHER PLACE IN YOUR HOUSE WHERE YOU WALK. YOU CAN VACUUM THE FLEAS OFF OF YOUR SOCKS AS YOU LEAVE THE AREA. PLACE THOSE SOCKS IN SOAPY WATER FOR AT LEAST FIFTEEN MINUTES, SCRUB THEM, RINSE THEM OUT, LET THEM DRY, AND REUSE. SORRY IF I FORGOT ANYTHING. I TRULY HOPE. THIS HELPS ANYONE.

Not Sure How To Rate This Product!
It had a great lather, and knocked a bunch of fleas off while in the bathโyet, those that still remained were either dead, and just stuck on the cat until combed out, or still moseying around, fully alive. Most of those were around the face areas, which would make sense as the product werenโt to be applied there, but there were stragglers along the larger expanses of the body, too. Like they were late to the eradication party, and just didnโt get the memo they were supposed to get the boot. My confusion towards what to properly rate this shampooโalthough Iโd been using sprays for rooms, regularly cleaning fabrics/surfaces/floors, combing them multiple times a day, and feeding them flea preventative chews in addition to this productโstems from uncertainty. After Iโd washed them, and combed out the fleas, the cats were actually able to peacefully sleep during the night and focus solely on playing, rather than scratching, during the following morning. By early afternoon, however, about half the usual amount of fleas returned. It were rather unsettling to have removed the fleas the night before(judging by sight and amount of scratching, if any), but then exhaustingly gaze upon another fur and skin infestation the very next day, likeโhuh?!? What HAPPENED?! So far, in my flea removal journey, nothing had really seemed to work just yet. On the bright side, this shampoo has a wonderfully pleasant scent, and caused the fur to have a velvety, long-lasting, moisturized tactility. That were fantastic; the cats STILL smell great even now, mid-afternoon the day after their bath! Iโd say for the SMALL bottle size, it were easy to glob on despite the type of child-proof-like cap and the freshness seal being wrestled with a bit. It cleaned away dirt very well from a long-haired cat; their fur felt so wonderfully fluffy, soft and clean! I could glide a comb through their bushy tail with NO resistance, compared to other pet shampoos used. The value is good, despite the TINY bottle size, but still on the fence with that clean-and-partially-flea-free-for-a-night-and-morning-then-a-near-mess-again-by-afternoon result. So eh. Iโm interested in using it again for its scent, alone haha. But, currently, I am in NO RUSH to try bathing them again anytime soon, as my scratched/bitten up hands and arms should probably have the chance to fully heal first.๐คฃ Update!: Itโs been 2-3 days, now. The flea amounts have increased a bit. On the bright side, for the short-haired cats, the wonderful aroma is impressively STILL very much present! It continues to be the right amount of โstrongโ. For the long-hair, however, the scent went away within a dayโs time haha. All the cats still have lusciously soft fur after that shampooing. Second update!: Itโs been almost a full week now, since the cats have been bathed with this product. Youโre NOT gonna believe this, but even after spraying them down in a STRONG โwonderโous cedar smell that clung to them and made their fur sticky/clammy-tacky for about 2 days, once it all wore away and their fur started smoothing out again, THE PLEASANT SCENT OF THIS SHAMPOO STILL REMAINED BENEATH IT ALL!! For only 2 of the kitties, of whom had been rolling around on the floor playing with each other, I couldnโt smell the shampoo anymore. Perhaps because one were the longhair, the shorthair who interacted with them the most began taking on their natural B.O. haha. There is another playful cat who often engages with those two, but that one still carries the aroma of this shampoo. Like Iโd stated before, if I did use this shampoo again, it would primarily be for the scent!!๐คฃ

Definitely recommend
Smells great, non toxic, and worked amazingly! First two lathers the fleas started coming off of Mitzi by the masses. By the forth lather she seemed to be flea free. Smells nice too! I noticed a huge boost in her morale after the bath!

Works OK
Honestly this stuff works as a quick flea removal. But I wouldnโt say itโs a โprevantativeโ after a few days the fleas just come back. They donโt die as I thought they would.

Works On Dog Lice, As The Label States. No More Scratching After One Bath!
We found out our dogs picked up dog lice at the dog park. The poor things were infested before we figured it out and went to the vet. He gave us a chewable flea/tick treatment that also works on lice. One of our dogs vomited a few hours after taking the chew and the vet told me it shouldโve already been digested, but she kept scratching and scratching, whereas the other dogs stopped scratching. I didnโt want to give her another ingest-able since she already vomited once, and I donโt know how much of it she actually digested. I found this shampoo that works on lice too, and ordered it. I just finished bathing her with it. Itโs not supposed to be used near the eyes, which makes sense, so I created a โbarrierโ by starting to apply the shampoo all around her neck, and on her ears and right under her ears, so when I started on her body, the lice couldnโt run up to her face, like fleas do. I read some reviews here where the reviewer said all the fleas on their dog ran up to the face, and you canโt use the shampoo there, so the treatment didnโt help them. Its a simple thing to create the barrier, but most people donโt think of it. I wouldnโt have either, lol, but not long ago I watched a video from our local animal shelter of a dog that had come in covered in ticks and fleas. The video was of the groomer there shampooing and clipping the dog. She explained she was starting the flea shampoo on his neck and why. Anyway, I did this with my dog too, and then shampooed her whole body, leaving the shampoo on for 5 minutes, as instructed by the manufacturer. I towel dried her and now she is almost dry and sleeping. She has not scratched once since the bath, whereas before she scratched somewhere on her body every 30 seconds or so, even after a bath with regular dog shampoo, waking up to scratch, never settling anywhere for longer than 5-10 minutes. Her hair is so soft now and she smells amazing, like baby powder. The shampoo is a thick, creamy, baby blue color, like the bottle. Dog lice are kind of yellowish brown, the same color as my dogโs hair. They are very hard to see, are smaller than fleas and donโt jump like fleas, so it was hard to see if they came off her. I also kept my eyes more on her than the sink. The true proof of effectiveness has been the absence of scratching. Yay! 5 big old stars! I will be using this on a regular basis to keep the lice, and possibly fleas, off my dogs. This shampoo contains an insecticide and should be used carefully. I recommend reading the entire label first and following the directions to the letter to prevent any mishaps.

This stuff really works.
My dog started scratching himself constantly, so I figured he had fleas and bought this shampoo for him. He has black fur so I didn't realize how bad it was....until I bathed him. I left the shampoo on him for 15 minutes. I saw fleas, eggs, and even larvae falling out of his fur (all dead, thank goodness.) He was immediately much happier and is obviously feeling better. My husband also used this shampoo on his cats and it worked on them, too. This shampoo is well worth the money.
