JGO is a fun QnA card game for practicing Japanese through conversation. The playing deck features 36 useful and creatively illustrated conversational question cards and 18 ‘Action cards' to make the learning fun, and enable many game play possibilities. JGO works best when at least one player has knowledge of the Japanese language, but absolute beginners can play, too – though in this case, we strongly recommend downloading and printing the translation sheet and reading the ‘JGO primer’ document, which offers advice specifically for this situation. You can find these at our website: agocards.com. JGO cards also work well as a 'picture dictionary' or as flash cards for study. All text and vocabulary is subtitled in Romaji (western script), making the cards easy to read, whilst allowing some opportunity to practice reading Japanese script (hiragana, katakana, a few simple kanji), too.All JGO cards are illustrated individually to add context to the cards, and provide useful vocabulary prompts. By their nature, playing cards appear in a random order each time a game is played. Players also spend equal time both asking and answering each of the questions. Thus, there is a natural balance that encourage players to learn and continually review in an interactive way. Over time players become comfortable and familiar with the grammar and vocabulary targets on the cards, and develop a deeper understanding of the target language each time they play.JGO Japanese Language Cards are an invaluable tool for students of Japanese of all ages, including those just dipping their toes in the language for the first time. In the classroom, JGO game cards work great as a fun lesson warm up that gets everyone speaking, and also as a fun way to finish a lesson.
