A single brass sponge and a container came with my soldering iron but I wanted some replacements as I do quite a bit of soldering when making suncatchers. These Thermaltronics B10 cleaning wire sponges work great as replacements, fit the container well, and keep the tip of the soldering iron clean and ready to use. I would buy these again.

These are small and good for replacing my tip cleaner. I had wanted to also use them to clean solder before patina. They are a little on the small side for that. They are okay—just on the small side.

Does what it was designed for. Sure were a lot in the package. Won’t need anymore, ever.

Ten of these at this price point is very generous. I bought them to replace the one in my ancient Radio Shack branded brass tip sponge. Others who are hoping to replace the brass sponge of a Radio Shack tip cleaner, expect to combine 2-3 brass sponges to replace the stock Radio Shack one. For Hakko replacement? One is more than enough. No matter how you roll the dice, this is one of the best offerings on the market for solder freaks like me.

I've used these replacements for years. I usually double them up inside the bucket they go in, but then switch out the top brass cleaner with a new one when it gets too abused. The double thickness helps keep the soldering iron from hitting the bottom of the bucket. I've used a temp-controlled iron for 20-30hrs a week for a good stretch and these last quite a while. If I'm doing that heavy of soldering I do have to clean out the bucket and pick larger pieces of solder that accumulates out of the brass cleaner -- otherwise when I go to clean the iron I still end up with solder on the tip since too much has accumulated in the brass wire. But it's a couple minutes to dump out the bucket and clean larger pieces out of the brass wire, then back to soldering. These brass cleaners hold up pretty well before having to be replaced. Definitely recommend over sponges that need to be wet. But, you will need to initially purchase the holder bucket for them. I can't imagine trying to use a holder that wasn't made for these and making it work.

These pads are small. But that's because I think they are meant to be used with the Thermaltronics TMT-9000S-1 Soldering System. As you can see in the photos, they are really tiny, about half the size of a normal scrubbing pad. I had to put 2 pads in my soldering iron holder because the tip of the iron kept hitting the bottom of the holding can. They do the job, but they are smaller than most. Can't blame the product or the brand. It's just meant to be used with a specific model. Check the photos and judge yourself.

Eponge un peu petite pour mon support , mais il suffit d'en mettre 2 , puis de les retourner lorsque la 1ère à fait son temps . Donc je valide ! Nettoie très bien mon fer a souder , je recommande !

Leggermente più piccole delle classiche pagliette da saldatura, ma avendone 10 a questo prezzo non esiste problema. Ne ho messe semplicemente due invece che una nel contenitore per spugnette cbe già usavo. Puliscono le punte alla perfezione, molto meglio di quelle in rame. Consigliate
