The media could not be loaded.  I chose this item based on its reviews mentioning the build quality and the fact it was a decent size for a counter display setting. I knew going into this that there were some issues with lighting... which wasn’t so much of a concern to me personally as I could easily fix this to work however I needed.The piece is well weighted and seems like it would last a long time with the exception of the lantern. The lantern is very poorly constructed and will not light in a well lit room. It works off solar sensing cells... so it will only turn on when the cells sense the amount of light in the room drops below a certain threshold. For me... this is a bummer... because I am displaying this in my shop, which is well lit and I do not plan on turning down the lights during business hours.I have included a video which shows how the light on the lantern is very finicky. I placed the piece almost directly underneath a fluorescent light fixture where the shadow of the skeletons arm would just put enough shade over the photo cells to allow it to turn off the bulb on. With just a little change in the surrounding lighting due to my body, the light would turn on and off... so we are just in the “sweet spot” for the light to turn on or off. My concern for most buyers... if you place this in too dark of a room, the light from the lantern will not illuminate the face of the skeleton due to the placement of the lantern being too high. Another reviewer mentioned this issue in another video. If you place this is too bright of a room... you will never get the lantern to light. It seems that this will properly work though, for a small percentage of users who have the ideal room lighting where it isn’t too dark.. and isn’t too bright.There is no option to bypass the sensor and just constantly illuminate the lantern. Additionally... the bulb is very dim and very blueish white. I don’t think it would have been too difficult to make the bulb one of those flickering candle lights which emit a rather realistic candle light effect... which is exactly what I am going to do.My plan is to hack the bottom of the lantern open and remove most of the guts. I will then install a small tea candle flickering bulb unit into this which will make this whole display complete. Currently the lantern is hanging by a hook underneath the skeletons palm. This hook allows the lantern to hang straight.... but I think it wouldn’t be such a bad idea to replace the hook and bit of chain on the lantern with some solid wire that would allow me to pose the lantern in a way that would let the candle light shine onto the face of the skeleton. My vision is that it would be a “frozen in time” swinging lantern where the lantern is angled instead of straight. Either that... or add a few links of chain to allow the lantern fixture to hang a little lower.My only gripe isn’t the lantern though. Overall the colors are pretty nice... with the exception of the grass at the bottom. I placed this onto a piece of faux grass we had laying around and it looks really cool. But... the grass on this piece is completely brown with no green shades at all. It’s very lush looking... so a I would expect it to have some green considering I’ve never seen dense brown grass before. A small personal gripe... which may only present itself if you placed it on some grass... or after reading my review.Overall... pretty happy about the purchase. I’ll fix the candle light effect which is my biggest issue with this and the only reason this doesn’t get a full 5 stars.

Awesome! It was smaller than expected but looks great in my large empty flower pot by the front door. I covered the edges with some dirt and it looks as realistic as a tiny skeleton coming out of the dirt while holding a mini lantern can be expected to look :} This little skeleton is quite sturdy. He managed to make it through our unusually cold and wet New York Halloween season without so much as a scratch on him. I was pleasantly surprised, especially because he spent the entire season uncovered while sitting on a pile of dirt, being completely exposed to the elements. Not to mention the fact that I'm usually the last person on the entire East Coast to remove my decorations! Unfortunately for Mr. Skeleton Skull, that means he also had to endure a few snowstorms. All in all, he fared pretty well. However, I do have one caveat - the Lantern! The lantern is made out of plastic and feels very light and cheap. When compared to the skeleton, it's not nearly as sturdy. My biggest concern with the lantern is how quickly that thing blows through batteries. It eats through 2 AA batteries every 4-6 hours. After about three battery changes I finally learned my lesson. The lantern is removable but I just kept it switched off until Halloween night. Overall though, I'm satisfied with this purchase!

Great detail and scary looking, wish they’d offer bigger size.

Based on one of the video reviews, I decided to purchase this product. It was everything described. We placed this sinister skeleton in our front yard, in front of an equal size tombstone, and I must say it still gets "lost" in our "cemetery" because of it's size. I agree with all the other reviewers, the light in the lantern only lights up the top of the head and because this lantern is battery driven, if it's left on continuously, the batteries only last a couple days. The coloring on the body & clothes are very good and the quality of the product is equally well-made. I am pleased I purchased this item; however, I think if you had a small yard or this was placed inside for indoor decor, it would be perfect.

I ordered on Sep 8. It got to my house the morning of Sep 12th with standard shipping. I think this is a really neat addition to my holloween collection. It looks good in the graveyard seen or even a on a countertop as a decorative piece. I am giving it four stars because my skull did not come with a hook on the wrist to hang the light from. Had some trouble figuring our where to hang the light until I found out from other reviews that it is supposed come with a hook and mine was just not attached. So what I did was, get a string and hang it from the thumb so that the light hangs down lower and illuminates the face of the skull. No big deal.
