Great deal for the price even if not as advertised.
So, I'm also one of these people that bought this laptop over the Thanksgiving weekend. I received it pretty fast and was a little bit surprised at the weight at first. But maybe I really can't tell the difference from 4.8 to 5.3 pounds. Since I need a larger screen for my work, I couldn't go for the lighter 13".I would have preferred a matt anti-glare screen but I got a anti-glare film for it so that works just as well.Anyway, the laptop is super fast. It boots up in under 20 seconds. Now, for somebody who is used to fast computers, that might not be too fast but I'm coming from a AMD Laptop that is 4 years old...Getting used to Windows 8 is a whole different matter but all new laptops now come with Windows 8, so I'm not sure you will have much choice. I talked to Dell about downgrading to Windows 7 for free but that is only available on Windows Professional and not the home version that comes installed on this computer. But luckily, I was told about clearshell. It's an exe file you can install on your computer and it disables the "windows 8" experience and gets your desktop back to pretty much what windows 7 was like.Because Adobe claims that the CS5 version won't run on windows 8, I have signed up for Adobe Cloud and was very surprised that some functions of Photoshop is actually not compatible with some GPU settings.... there is a fix for it but I'm now running my old software on it. Luckily, I was able to do it because it still has a CD drive!!The only downside so far is the disappointment about having bought something and it's not what I paid for. I wouldn't have realized that it was only a 2 ghz processor or about the SSD drive, if it wouldn't have been for these reviews. My laptop shows a model of 15z-5523 which on the Dell website has a 3ghz.I wonder, if that is where the confusion on Amazon came it. Could it be that these computers have a wrong label from Dell on it and Amazon just assumed that it had these specs?Anyway, my option now would be to return the laptop for a refund but honestly I'm happy with it and I don't want to go through the trouble. It's super fast and I paid a good price for it, even if it's not quite what was promised. When I searched for any laptops with an Intel i-7 processor, they were all over $1000!Pros: Very fast (at least in my book)Slim profileCd DriveGreat priceCons: Not as specified on the adHeavier then I thoughtSo overall, I think it's still a great deal.

Wrong product
Ordered this laptop so I didn't have to bother with any Black Friday sales. Received it the Friday after Thanksgiving which was great. Opened it up and started using it right away. Seemed sluggish so I checked the specs on it and it was inferior in every way to the laptop I had purchased.Called customer service and was told to return the product and they would send a new one as soon as another became available. Few days later, received a full refund. Called back and was told that they couldn't do anything. Gave me 30$ credit and sent me on my way. Called back again, and was told that there wasn't anything I could do but wait to order the item again, when it was back in stock. The customer service agents were nice enough, but weren't able to do anything to help me resolve the situation. Amazon really dropped the ball on this item and should be doing everything in their power to correct this issue as fast as possible. The last person I spoke to requested that I reorder the product when it was available for purchase. His hopes are that the product will be correct the second time around, however, if it isn't, I've been told that this will cause this deal to be removed from the site. I'll update review in a few days after I receive my order.

Is not what the specs promised, have tricky description
This ultrabook is ok, but the specs aren't clear neither honest. They described a 3.1GHz Intel core i7 but it is a 2.0GHz Intel Core i7 with turbo that reachs up 3.1GHz, so is true that this ultrabook has 3.1 but using the turbo. I feel cheated with that spec.Other tricky spec is that has 32GB of Solid State Hard Drive, I was excited about that spec, and was disappointed for me when I look in to My PC and didn't find this storage device is the list. So I do some research and apparently this ultrabook does have that 32GB but are "configuration only" so it looks like that are only used by computer internaly.I won't ask for a refund, this ultrabook is just ok, I haven't use it for intensive processing programs, and until now all the functionalities run fast and smooth. I will use this computer for software development, and honestly I am a little afraid about what will be its performace in that cases, I hope that I won't have problems. Will see how it goes on.Amazon need to be more clear and honest with the products descripcion, this Ultrabok description it's a shame on them.I feel cheated and disappointed.

Windows 8 is somewhat lacking
Laptop is great. Windows 8 is frustrating and a big time waster. Thing that used to be one click away are now two or more clicks. And many things are hard to find. And something just don't make sense.MS and others Software companies have migrated standard programs to apps which require additional "gestures" to do things that are simple clicks in prior Windows versions. For example Adobe pdf reader. Older versions have standard function menus (e.g. print) that are always available while reading a document, in the APP (Windows 8) version you have to touch the top of the screen and pull down partially to get the menu to appear. Also there is no simple way to close an App (no X in the upper right), you have to touch the top of the screen and drag all the way to the bottom to close an App (and sometime this gesture is not recognized). I could go on and on with examples, but the bottom line is Window 8 wastes the users time, a feature that to a busy person is infuriating.
