OEM replacement, it took me about 15 minutes to swap them out. The old one still worked after 15 years, but didn't seem to move much air. Now we get a nice warm breeze coming out of the front of our old Vexar fireplace. One recommendation... wear work gloves when replacing it. There are a lot of sharp edges under the fireplace, and not a lot of room to maneuver. I got quite a few small cuts on my hand. Not a huge deal, and gloves will take up even more space, but probably worth it...

I am the kind of person that leaves windshield wipers on after it quits raining. Stuff just doesn't generally bug me, but this fan is pretty noisy. It was in the room with our tv and you just couldn't run it on anything but about 20% without it being too loud to the point where we just weren't using it. I swapped it out for a bank of ultra quiet computer fans. They put out more air and are nearly undetectable.This would probably be fine in a room where you weren't that close or other noises drown it out.

Had to get a smaller version to fit the fireplace. Works great, keeping the living room toasty. Quiet even when fan is turned up.

Lasted for one season. Paying for it and labor to get it done and breaking after one season is a costly investment.I wish the company will address this issue.
