Handy, Accurate Military Protractors — Great for Teaching Land Navigation
This pack of five military protractors has been exactly what I needed for teaching land nav to groups, and they work well in real instructional scenarios. They’re simple tools, but when you’re teaching map reading, bearings, pacing, and navigation skills, having quality protractors is essential — and these deliver. Right out of the bag, the protractors feel solid and usable. The plastic is clear and rigid enough that you can see map details underneath without distortion, yet flexible enough that they won’t snap the moment pressure is applied. The markings are clean and easy to read, with degree increments and cardinal directions clearly printed, which makes explaining navigation concepts to students much easier. Using them in the field is straightforward. Whether you’re aligning with grid north, plotting a compass course, or measuring terrain features, they hold up well. They don’t slip as easily as cheaper versions, and the edges stay straight and functional even with repeated use. For teaching purposes, being able to hand these out and know they’ll survive a morning of training is a big plus. Having five in a pack is very useful. It means each student or pair of students can have their own tool rather than sharing or crowding around a single protractor. That speeds up lessons, keeps everyone engaged, and helps each student build confidence with hands-on practice. It also saves a lot of time in group settings because you don’t have to constantly pass a single unit back and forth. Despite being basic tools, they feel better made than the cheapest protractors you sometimes find in school or office supply aisles. They’re functional without being overly delicate, and cleaning them or packing them up at the end of a session is no hassle. Overall, this is a practical, well-made set of military-style protractors that’s perfect for teaching land navigation. They’re clear, accurate, sturdy enough for repeated use, and the five-pack format makes them ideal for group instruction. Five stars for helping make land nav lessons smoother and more effective.

great protractor heaver than issued ones. will last much longer.
This is heaver than my military issue. numbers are printed on unit do not know how long they will last. the military ones would brake and the numbers would wear off. this one is much stronger than my issued one. I will not be using it as much as I used them in the military so it will last me as long as I can walk. No chance of wearing it out.

Exceptional Quality
Excellent quality - crisp lines, straight opening edges, just the right level of rigidity. Far superior to other protractors.

Rugged, High Quality Protractor
I served for 24 years as an Aviation and Special Forces Officer and this protractor which I bought to train my son on land navigation is easily the nicest one I have ever seen or used. It is cleanly printed and thicker than normal “issue” military protractors. I am very impressed. I can tell that Lethal Life Tactical is a Veteran-Owned small business.

This is a really great product!
I really like how accurate and easy to use this protractor is compared to the one I was issued. Having the back azimuths definitely helps whenever I'm having a brain fart. The only thing that knocks this is how easy it is to scratch. The last one of these got scratched to the point of being translucent rather than transparent, and my accuracy at finding points suffered a little bit. I was able to rememdy this by wrapping a ziploc bag in duct tape to prevent the bag from tearing and scratching the protractor. That works fine, and if it doesn't I'll probably buy another one of these just because they're so great to use.

Big!
I'm not military, so I got this thinking it would be pocket-sized. I guess it might be if you have large cargo pockets, but otherwise no it is definitely not small. Kind of a bummer but I'll still probably use it

Many map protractors are cluttered and confusing with too much information and too many scales. Degrees and mils are depicted for immediate comparison. Only the most useful romers for common scales for topographical maps are cleverly incised on the instrument. For instruction or field use, military or civilian, you cannot beat this extremely affordable, tough flexible plastic map tool.

This is a great roamer with different scales for all kinds of maps.

The 1/50 000 doesn't even fit the grid square. It's noticeable inaccurate

Good quality protractor and scales to use on topo maps for find Coordinates and locations and marking way points. Easy to learn and use.
