Good Boots- Careful in hot weather!
These are cleverly designed boots that did help heal up my mares bedsores. However, when the weather got warm, they actually burned the skin around her ankles since the neoprene holds in heat. So be really careful and save til winter! Check your horse frequently- mine got burned in just 1-2 days; the boots were on during turnout from 9-4 and off at night.

Well made .. But...
These boots are well made. I thought i would be happier with them. They do slip..and get snow caught in them. I think i will stick to my other boots for my horse. I do want to add that they arrived quickly with some peppermints for my horse! That was a cute surprise!

I am absolutely delighted. My concerns were about the wraps impeding circulation ...
I am hesitant to purchase new things until I have researched them completely. Based upon the reviews, I ordered. I am absolutely delighted. My concerns were about the wraps impeding circulation or twisting around or getting caught and tangled somehow. These are the best product I have tried. They stay in place perfectly, took only a short time for my gelding to get used to the feel of them, and have protected him from further injury perfectly. He was reinjuring his legs every time he laid down and we were at our wits end. I ordered "CutNHeal" because I have used it before and absolutely swear by its healing properties....and I needed something to prevent additional injuries. These wraps are just amazing. The Velcro holds extremely well and keeps the wrap in place, they are quite comfortable for him, and easy to put on and take off. Yes...the Velcro needs some tugging to remove but that is why they fit so well and stay so well. I have one of those horses who lays down to sleep and he is a really big guy...16H...so it can be hard on his legs. I recommend them to anyone....just look at the picture and put them on correctly.

Didn't work for my boy :(
I like the idea of these boots but, in reality, they didn't work out. They fill with debris and if any moisture is present, they will irritate and rub the pastern raw. I only had them on my horse overnight and they caused a lot of irritation.

Good boots
They work good on our TB X TWH mare that always seems to get bedsores. She did manage to get one of them up her leg one night, but it was OK. Velcro is really sticky!

Irritated existing bedsores - edited to: Love these boots!
I wanted to like these, as they are so easy to put on and fit well. But the next day I was appalled to see that the bedsores appeared worse. I think the fabric has the potential to irritate existing sores. Might work to prevent sores in the first place though. Or maybe my horse is just sensitive to this neoprene.Update: Have been using these for several months and am very pleased. What helped me was to put them on pretty loosely - not so loose that they readily turn, but not snug. These fit great on my very large Belgian, but I could use them on a regular sized horse too. His sores are completely gone on one leg, and mostly gone from the other now. Love these!

Use caution with these boots!
Either my horse had an allergy to the neoprene, or moisture got under them and made a wreck of things. I was happy with them for about 3 weeks. They stayed in place and all was well. Then 2 days after a rain--so perhaps the horse stood in the rain and it got wet under there--I took the boots off as there was a hideous smell coming from them. The hair had sloughed off underneath much of the covered area, there were several sores on both legs and his legs were stocked up. The skin was weeping like crazy for a couple days, and the smell was so horrible you could hardly get near him, then the skin infection turned into a fungal infection. I'm at week 3 of treating them and they are finally making progress and looking better. I've gone back to the looser fitting ones that I've used for years. The photos are from a couple days after the initial incident and redness is less, but fungal infection hadn't set in yet.

Healed both our horses!
Both our horses get sores from getting up and down on crusher fine. These boots did the trick! They are all healed up, fur is back, and we bought two extra sets to have spares to wash. They aren’t showing any signs of wear after a month. DO take them off to clean and dry them on a regular basis. If the get/stay wet, you’ll have a whole new problem! Thy stay in place very well. Our vet was impressed and will now have a good product to recommend for other horses who suffer from sores.
