Great, low cost Comprehensive OBD2 reader
The Veepeak OBD2 scanner code reader was competitively priced and arrived in a timely manner. It provides the same information as handheld scanners costing considerably more. I used it to diagnose multiple issues on a 2001 GMC Jimmy that I bought in auction. It needed a new distributor, a new fuel pump, a new master brake cylinder, a new radiator, new transmission cooling lines, new power steering lines and had numerous vacuum leaks.

Works great, fast updates, quality hardware
I've been using this on a 2000 Buick Park Avenue. I use "Torque Pro" on Android and bought all the paid features to go along with it because it works so well. I tried "Torque Lite" first, which was free. Great app, imo. My phone is a Galaxy S10+ (Snapdragon 855 8 core/8GB RAM/UFS 2.1 storage @ 6gbps/Bluetooth 5.0). I am not sure what version of Bluetooth this device uses. I am assuming 4.0 from the info I'm able to find. The hardware seems to be moderately powerful because I can load my screen up with gauges and have zero slowdowns.. ever. No jamming, no lost connections. I've seriously yet to have an issue with this product or the software I'm using with it. I assume the data transfer rate of BT5.0 or higher isn't necessary. I can log .csv files and open them with any app that can read them (like Chrome, for example). But it can log and show live data without any hitches. I'd recommend it to a friend. It's mentioned everywhere, but just realize you need Android, you need Bluetooth and you need SOME kind of compatible software on your Android device that can utilize this scanner. As mentioned, I am using Torque Pro. You can change how fast some items update vs others, but a lot of mine are updating at least twice a second (I can go faster or slower) and like I said, even with a page full of data being updated, there's no slowdowns. It doesn't get hot. It constantly and smoothly updates, whew, for example, MPH (You can use GPS or OBDII speed, in this instance, I'm using OBDII and a screen to show the difference in OBDII speed vs GPS), RPM, Vacuum, Intake Temp, Load %, Throttle %, EVAP usage and more. I can't even remember what all I have on one screen. You can add formulas (you can find them online) and see if they will work for your car, too. They are for the Torque app. I can reset my codes without issue. I have a massive vacuum leak. Being a 2000 Park Avenue with the 3800 II @ 120kish miles, I'm fairly certain it's the LIM gasket. It's some head/intake gasket that blows on them all between cyl. 4 and 5, because I've had misfires there. So I got it to just mainly keep an eye on my one code that keeps popping up (IAC can't control the high idle) and ended up being able to see so much more. I really love this tool. I use it EVERY time I drive haha. I love looking down and seeing MAF cfm flow, intake temp, Volumetric Efficiency (terrible with the vacuum leak) and more. Just so many little things I didn't expect to be able to see and all updating perfectly like clockwork. So, yeah, some of this praise is to the software, but the hardware, itself, is flawless at sending data all through Bluetooth, somehow, with zero slowdowns. I'm impressed.

Excellent value and long lasting (5 years for me).
Worked well for about 5 years. I left it plugged into my car and used it often as a data reader for AT Temp etc. while towing. It finally stopped connecting to my phone via bluetooth. I bought it in 2021, so I've had it almost 5 years. Going to buy another one for $15. Worth it! I'll probably opt to not leave it plugged in all the time, next time around. It could have also broken when my truck died recently and I had to jump start it. I'm not positive what killed it really. I ended up paying for Car Scanner Pro ($5 I think) and I used it for diagnosing issues on anything from my 01 Buick Park Ave to my dad's 2014 Corolla. Does NOT read TPMS or other body control module items. Just ECU data and codes. Live data readouts from O2, MAF, Throttle, temp sensors etc. Really nice tool to have around.

Be patient!
Well, I got it to do what I needed it to do, but it wasn't easy for me. Now considering I'm old and not that savvy with electronics, could have been user error. But my scan tool couldn't reset my transmission degradation counter for my Nissan Altima transmission fluid. That's important after a fluid change. But this tool did! So 5star rating. Would give it 10 but... Anyway, you have to download an app to use it and if you have other Bluetooth devices nearby it has trouble connecting. But if I figured it out,so will you.

great features
Update: Since writing this review, I believe the Car Scanner App is no longer free. I have found one or two free apps that allow tire pressure readings, but have not found a good free app for all the other temperature readings. If you don't mind paying a little to buy one of the well-known apps it should be fine. I had to purchase the paid version of Car Scanner for $5 and it unlocked the features and readings that are shown in my original review. I accidently left the unit attached to my car for several days. Luckily it did not drain the battery, but it did cause a weird issue where my keyless entry system (not smart key) did not work. I had to manually open the car with the key and had to start and drive the car twice before the keyless function returned to normal. You may want to test how your car reacts in this situation when you have time to address it so that it doesn't happen unexpectedly on accident. --- I'm amazed by the utility of this product at such a low price. Set up on a 2017 Rav4, pairing was a little difficult at first so you may need to reset your phone's bluetooth and make sure your car has ignition set to ON position before trying to pair. Once paired it seems to work fine and even connects automatically next time I drive the car. The veepeak mini is small so it doesn't get in the way when you leave it in the obd port while driving. Some cars have an awkward obd location and an obd reader will get in the way of your leg. The free version of Car Scanner App works great. Tip: I was able to add some readings like car battery voltage by going to the dashboard view and then adding a new sensor. For some reason I could not find battery voltage in the sensors list within settings. I found that there is a glitch when shutting off the car, the tires pressures will jump up 20psi and it takes a couple minutes for each tire to show the correct reading. Remember also that when you shut the car off, you have to turn the ignition back to the ON position for the Veepeak to communicate with your phone. Other than this, the tire pressures seem very accurate compared to my tire pump gauge and change in realtime while driving. Annoying, most cars only give you a low tire pressure warning so it's great to have actual pressure readings for each tire (see picture). Some more advanced readings like transmission temperature may have to be added manually in the app through a PID. Google instructions for your car and search something like "transmission temperature PID" I was able to find instructions for my car through rav4world.com and toyotanation.com to add the transmission temp readout in Car Scanner. One thing that could be improved by getting a more expensive obd reader is the ability to turn the unit off. This one stays on while plugged in so it might drain your car battery after a few days. There are also more expensive units that can use wifi and are compatible with iphone.

Works great when it decides to connect
Not sure if its the product or Bluetooth in general but its hard to connect to the apps. I had to remove and reinstall multiple times to get it to reset and connect to my phone. It works though with alfaobd and few other apps. Price is good as well

Veepak Bluetooth
This deserves a 5 star, a brilliant piece of equipment to diagnose errors on your car. Simply download Car Scanner or any OB2 app on your phone. Plug the Veepak into the scart port for OB2, google where it is on your make of car. Pair it up by bluetooth and connect via the app. If your car is experiencing probs it brings up the codes for errors. I highly recommend it before you bring your car to the garage. I'm raging I didn't discover this sooner, would have saved me a lot of money in the past getting fleeced by mechanics. Knowledge is power lol. This one is for android only. Happy scanning :-)

Works with TUNE ECU
Don’t bother buying the cheap knock offs as they won’t pair with the app. Go straight to this one

Stop reading reviews and just order!
I purchased this scanner earlier this month (bluetooth version) and have had a great time reading engine codes and accessing everything the ECU seemed to know on my household's 4 vehicles. I paired it with the Torque Lite app (very good app for being free) on my Samsung Galaxy S5. The first time I plugged it in it took a minute to show up in the list of available devices, but once it did it was easy to identify (named "OBDII") and it paired with my phone instantly with the password "1234". The device is impressively small and sturdy and fit snugly (but without trouble) on all 4 of the OBDII ports I tried. One of the ports was recessed, but I followed advice I read on here to make a pull tab out of duct tape and would recommend all buyers do the same. It just gives you some piece of mind and makes it that much easier to find and yank out without looking. I don't know if the refresh rate for the information is specific to the device or to the ECU or the app you use, but in my case it was definitely quick enough. Also I know that this scanner can slowly drain your battery, but I forgot it plugged into my car that was parked for a few days (with a half drained battery due to the alternator failing) and had no problems starting it up so the drain is not overly significant. If you drive your car at least every other day, I couldn't imagine leaving it plugged in full time would give you any problems. I am simply amazed by the usefulness of this device for individuals that have a vehicle, whether they are mechanically inclined or not. The mechanic by my house charges $70 CAD to scan codes, so this device paid for itself within minutes of receiving it. Paired with a free app, it offers a multitude of information that wouldn't be shown by a more expensive LCD scanner. More people should be made aware that these scanners are available, and I'll surely be doing my part by showing all of my friends that care to listen. Thank you Veepeak for a great product!
