Setting up
Ok so the set up process is totally messed. Here’s how I set it up. Put batteries in the remote. Plug in the unit. When the red light stops blinking on the plug it is connected to the remote. If you can get the read out to the f or c that you want then do it. Otherwise keep pushing the two buttons until you see that you are adjusting the temperature up and down on the bottom display and that’s it. If you set the temp to 20C (68f) the unit turns the power on if it goes below that and turns it off if it goes above that. Simple as that. Don’t even attempt the rest of the set-up because it is screwed. Otherwise it works great to adjust temp on a heating unit.PS. Can anyone tell me how to change from C to F? It’s not in my instructions.

Within its limitations works great
Value for the money. Nice looking product and easy to use. Works according to directions, although the directions are not the best, nor are they by any means the worst. If you have done any Bluetooth pairing, you'll be able to get things connected. The remote sets the desired temperature and also senses the room temperature, so you can set it to be comfortable wherever you are in the room. The primary drawback is the temp is plus or minus two degrees Fahrenheit to turn on or off. This is a necessary design feature of a controller in order to avoid too rapid cycling of the heater. As long as you understand this, you'll be fine. When I want to increase the temp I generally increase the setting until the device turns on the heater, then back it down one degree. Once the cycle starts it will continue until the set temperature is exceeded by two degrees, so backing it down one degree after it begins avoids overheating a smaller room. In a larger space or one with drafty windows, this might not be necessary. Again, for the money this is a great product.

Very happy with this device !!
I have a space heater that put out a lot of heat that I like in my bedroom. The temp control was one of those dial ones and it was tricky to get what I wanted for the temperature . I got this device and hang the thermostat on the wall at eye level and it works great !! It shuts off at about 2 degrees above the temp I set it for and starts back up 2 degrees below . I think this device will save me money on electricity because my heater wont run any longer then it has too . I also plan to use this my air conditioner in the summer months .

No safe for rated wattage!!!!!!!!!
have been using this product for just over a year and began having issues almost immediately. The connectors inside the plug were very loose. At times, it just wouldn't come on. I would jiggle the plug and it would come on, with some crackling noises from the plug. Attempted to make these connections tighter and seemed to work for a while. Then I started noticing burn marks on my power strip (which has nothing else plugged into it) and the prongs on the heater plug. Moved to another outlet and cleaned off the prongs and seemed to work ok. The one day earlier this week, I heard crackling noises from my power strip and looked over to see smoke coming from this unit and immediately unplugged and said, no thanks. If I hadn't been there, it may have burned down the house. This plug is supposed to be rated for 15A and my heater is 1500 Watts, so it should be plenty. I don't know if it actually won't handle this load or that the construction is so poor that there is way too much resistance in the connections (thus the crackling noises and smoke). For slightly more money, and a lot more peace of mind, get yourself a real thermal control unit like they use for brewing, breeding, reptile tanks, etc. Most of them can actually handle two inputs for heating and cooling, if you need something like that. Either way, this unit is crap. Buy at your own risk. Or at least don't use it with anything close to the max rated Amps.

Works as intended. Note temp sensor is in the remote.
At first the remote and plug did not communicate. I thought I received a defect. Turns out I needed to plug the unit into the outlet first then batteries into the remote.Since then the device has worked great. Our house retains heat well. Which is not great for sleeping. Before buying this unit we swapped our window AC for a fan and woke up in the morning to freezing temperatures. Since getting this the room only slightly chilly in the morning.I recommend this if you are looking for something simple and temperature sensor in the remote.

Thermostat not accurate
Thermostat not accurateThis was my second purchase of this device and the first one was excellent. This one however...the thermostat is 5° off so I have to constantly compute in my head when I’m setting it...Also they increased the degree setting between when it goes off and comes back on.

Does what it's supposed to
I have this in my shop connected to a 100k BTU heater that uses a 2 wire thermostat. I jumpered the t-stat wires to "on" and installed this on the incoming power. allows me to fine tune the temp in the shop by placing the remote where I get the most even heat. The unit is off by ~ 2* F measured with an infrared thermometer. Not a deal breaker for me.The instructions were less than desirable but I am smarter than the appliance, so...

Keep the remote close to the receiver!
We bought this for our small Sunbeam heating fan in our travel trailer so we don’t use all our propane with our furnace. It works fairly well, but the remote has to be fairly close (like 5 feet or less) to the wall receiver otherwise it misses the on/off signal and stays in whatever mode it was previously on. I’ve woken up a few times in the night to the camper either being hot or cold due to a missed signal. Moving the remote closer remedied that. The most annoying part is the bright green blinking light on the front of the remote. I guess it blinks every time it sends a signal to the wall receiver switch, but it blinks like every 30 seconds or more. Sort of annoying when you’re trying to sleep. Overall, I’d recommend

The answer to my space heater problems...
Works exactly as expected and allows me to set a space heater to go as high as I will ever need. Very easy set-up, unobtrusive in use. Full marks.

Makes old AC smart!
The media could not be loaded. This item is extremely simple to use. I read reviews claiming it was difficult, but as long as you have batteries in the remote before plugging in the outlet, it works every time. To set a temperature, hold the off button for 3 seconds. Repeat this step to turn off your settings. A single press will turn the outlet off or on. This made my 1990’s window AC units useful again.
