Was destroyed in literally 15 minutes :(
I was super optimistic for these bowls since one of our dogs in particular has a very high metabolism and is always thirsty, but doesn't seem to like drinking out of the bottle style water containers for his crate. I had safety concerns with most bowl designs, and didn't want something that he could step on and knock all over the floor, so this seemed perfect!Unfortunately, he destroyed the plastic base in literally 15 minutes from when we put it on. Which was SO disappointing since this seemed like it was going to solve all of our problems when it comes to keeping him well hydrated when in his crate! This is also super concerning since if it's that easily destroyed, had we actually left and not just been using it as a trial run, it could have been SO much worse had he swallowed any pieces! He normally doesn't try and chew things like this, so I don't know if it was just such soft plastic that he thought it was ok or what :(

Great for Birds of All Sizes
Don’t like the deep bowls that cages come with and specifically bird versions of products like this are oddly expensive while also being really inconvenient to use. They often have metal screw on things and can’t even support the bird putting a little weight on it. I’ve had them before, just not fun and made me hate feeding fresh. I saw these bowls being used at a local bird shop with adult macaws standing on them with no worry. Nice and wide so my Amazon can see all the options, she can move what she doesn’t want to get to something else without knocking it on the floor, dropped food usually makes it back into the bowl, and it easily supports her weight with no strain on the cage or it’s coating.

Attachment post too short
Bought the 2 pack set and they worked fine attached to the carrier without issue. Bought this one to add an additional water dish and the attachment post is not long enough to reach through the carrier gate door. I tried to file down the slot so it would fit onto the crossbars better but it I still couldn't get it to reach well enough to catch the threads on the cheap plastic nut... which stripped shortly after trying to attach it. Finally just resorted to using so high strength tape to secure it to the carrier door.

Will probably need to modify this if you actually want to put it on a cage.
I bought these to add to the bars of a cage. As you can see in my first and 2nd images, there is plastic flashing in where it’s supposed to go on the bar. Also, even when I cut the flashing, the screw cap would not attach to the part that sticks through the bars, therefore it could not be attached STILL! I had to take a drill bit the width of the wanna be slit and drill out the remainder of plastic inside said slit. Now, it fits on the cage and I’m able to screw the end cap on securely!

A Good Buy!
I have yet to see my dogs use their water bowls b/c we usually just crate them when we won’t be around to watch them. However, the bowls fit perfectly in both of their crates and I find the bowls easy to use and clean. I love being able to lift the bowls themselves out of their outer shells in order to fill them up, empty them, or clean them. Our dogs don’t chew on things that aren’t their toys, so I can’t speak on the durability of them outside of the fact that they work well in the crates. The bowls hold a substantial amount of water, too. Our dogs aren’t big breeds, so they don’t need a lot of water while in their crates.

Lasted 3 hours with my Lab puppy :(
When we received this, I was impressed with how well built it seemed and it fit on my pup’s crate perfectly. I put it on her crate and left for a few hours. Unfortunately, when I got home, I saw that my 6 month old lab had destroyed it. She somehow got it off of the side of her crate and chewed it. The only part that was left is the metal insert. I don’t want to say that this bowl isn’t built well because perhaps my puppy just has jaws of steel. I’m just not sure how the heck she got it off the crate and how she chewed it to little pieces. I think if you have a dog that doesn’t chew, which she’s normally not a chewer lol, then this would be great for you. I am NOW on the lookout for something more durable.

My dog pulled it down the first time
This seems like a great concept, but it’s just not that sturdy. The first time I left my dog in the crate with it I came home to a wet mess because she had managed to pull it down and spill water everywhere. She also used the rest of her time in the crate to chew through the plastic, so now it’s chipped in the bowl area and the screw part has been chewed down enough that it’s impossible to screw it on tightly anymore. Every time she’s left alone I come home to the bowl being pulled down and chewed on (and she has plenty of chew toys in there already!) I can’t leave much water in it because it will end up a big mess, so she just gets a tiny bit.

Don't do it!!
Two issues make this bowl useless for its intended purpose:1) The plastic clip does not hold the bowl; if a 5lb puppy can knock it off the cage in less than 20 seconds, it is not meant for dogs;2) The bowl holder has a bottom on it. This creates suction that makes it very difficult to remove the bowl. I literally have to take the whole thing off the crate and pull and pull to get the bowl out of the holder. Ridiculous. I threw the boxes away, but I'm still going to try to return. They are useless.
