More expensive than the Derwent equivalent, but then these feel as thought they're much higher quality. It's fairly subjective, but they seem more natural to hold, and possibly very slightly heavier (perhaps in the way that two feathers seem heavier than one, even though you can't actually FEEL it, if you see what I mean).Anyway, they are definitely of very high quality, perhaps last a little longer than cheaper pencils (again, it seems that way, but it's hard to be sure). I personally like the range of shades more than Derwent, but there really isn't enough provable difference to convince anyone in a review.I recommend trying these out. It may just be good packaging and superficial design differences that make these pencils seem great quality, but it could also be the graphite and the wood. It's also inspiring, sometimes, to have something a little different to the more obvious high-street choices (Staedtler and Derwent).

I always buy this make of pencils for my art work as I find they are the best for me. I love working in graphite so use these a lot and am very pleased with them.,

These are super smooth. There are no annoying gritty bits. They blend well with paper stumps etc. They are a really good buy.

Excellent graphite pencils that also look good. The gradation from each pencil is superb and they do not break when sharpened.I will be purchasing more

Superb tonal separation and great looks and smooth graphite clay mix. I rate these up there with Faber Castell 9000's. This set here I highly recommend as they are affordable and would make the perfect sketching set for taking anywhere for art. Very enjoyable to use.
