Gates41013 Premium Engine Water Pump

This part was installed into a 2003 SVT Focus while replacing the timing belt. This part was an exact fit and seems to perform equally as well as the OEM part that was removed. Ive put ~1k miles on this part and have been happy with my purchase. No leaks and no temperature issues.Be careful when re-installing and torquing down the 4 bolts that hold the pump not to strip out the threads in the engine block. Ford calls for 158 in/lbs (14 ft/lbs) of torque which is easily too much for such small threads. I torqued mine to 8 ft/lbs and used red loc-tite on the threads to ensure they wouldn't draw loose over time.

This water pump fit perfectly on my Focus SVT. I had trouble getting the old one removed from the vehicle. You have to try raise and lower the engine until you find the sweet spot for removing the old water pump and installing the new one. I ended up removing the AC compressor to make it easier to remove and install the new water pump. This water pump was installed while replacing the timing belt. Car has maintained coolant temperature as it should since the install about a month ago.

Pump appears to be correct and in brand new condition however as other have stated they received the oring/gasket I did not overall happy with purchase.

Great product. Gates always has good parts. Cheaper the most parts stores as well on Amazon.

This pump outer lip for the pulley was not machined or cast to right diameter. This caused pulley to wobble. Had to remove pump to see what the problem was. Had the open the diameter of pulley. This cause an extra 2 hours of work to figure out the problem then come up with a fix. Should just bought one from NAPA. Worried about buying from amazon was not worth the savings.

i received the part quite a while ago the box was beat up i didnt think anything of it i go to install it yesterday and i get stopped by the fact the part did not come with the gasket no one in town has the gasket and to get one i have to buy a water pump locally or wait a week to ship it

I bought this for my 2003 SVT Focus. It was a perfect match. It comes with a new rubber o-ring gasket and new bolts. New bolts are always a plus. Thank you for reading my review.

Bolts, o-ring included. 2002 focus, zetec. Perfect replacement, appears identical to the old one. No issues installing.
